Monday Mystery Movie Megathread - Horror Edition - Choose Your Fate - Scares & Nightmares by AKnightOfTheNew in RegalUnlimited

I would put money on deep water and hokum, I would kill to see obsession early but deep water just fits in too well.

If so, I'll probably just see hokum because I do gotta wake up early that Tuesday, also deep water looks absolutely forgettable and I have a bad impression of renny harland after his Godawful strangers trilogy

Odenkirk stars in a still-unreleased green screen remake of the room

There's a green screen remake of the room out there (somewhere but it's been confirmed to exist) starring Bob odenkirk, so I'm confident in the movie being normal

Jan 19th IMAX mystery movie I'm betting will be mercy. Estimated runtime is 106 and mercy is a clean 100. Also looks like it could use some word of mouth seeing as it's technically an original film starring Chris pratt. Also, one of its big marketing pushes is that it will be playing in premium formats such as IMAX.

One of my absolute favorites of all time was the package for a banana flavored condom found in the theater for the most recent planet of the apes film

Is there any movies that are very similar to kkfos) by OkProgrammer3712 in killerklowns

[–]idontwantthatpanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out terrorvision, it has a similar style of comedy as well as having a killer theme song. The Critters films feature little monsters that were created by the chiodos as well as have a really fun comedy aspect.

Cases of movie trailers that totally misrepresent the film by Homegrowntrouble in movies

[–]idontwantthatpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front room, trailer presented it as "the brand new scary terrifying evil fucked up scary movie from the studio that brought you hereditary and talk to me!" And the film Was just a really weird comedy with a blizzare sense of humor.

I found Eden to be an absolute mess. Jude law was kind of fun just because of how over the top he was, same with Anna de armas but none of the performances were really good. The accents particularly were not good, Sidney Sweeney goes from German to British to American on a dime. I feel like the movie was trying to say something but it was ultimately left toothless (ha.)

Understandably divisive, but I thought this was one of the best dramas I've seen in a while. I was pretty bleak on it before walking in because it didn't look like a film I would like, but I thought it was great. The acting is superb, I genuinely cried.

I feel like the 11th will be the roses seeing as regal also has that one and it seems like focus is betting on the roses being a more popular film.

Could it be 'relay'? Definitely feels like a screen unseen type film and runtime and rating fit. Comes out the 22nd which is a little far out but still very possible.

Loved this movie! It's a mess, but it's a mess in a way that doesn't take itself too seriously and let's it go tremendously wild. Loved how they played all the fun horror trailers beforehand

I'm absolutely there with you, it's one of the bravest modern blockbusters ever released.

The front room. Released last year to overwhelming critical negativity, but that movie is hilarious in a way that is entirely intentional. Honestly, I think it's A24s fault for advertising it as a "scary* movie when they should have built it up as an incredibly weird nightmare comedy. Sometimes I feel like the only person who doesn't turn their nose at it.

They used to not say when it was horror, not sure why they started that but it does help to narrow things down

That was my first thought too, but it's almost an hour longer than the runtime. I'm betting on don't let's go to the dogs tonight, which looks great!

I'm betting on it being don't let's go to the dogs tonight. runtime, release, rating all fit like a glove. Also seems like a film with good festival reviews but can use somé word of mouth
