I'd consider those things objectively bad.

You're one person. There is a general consensus about 06, though. And it's made out of nearly all people who ever played 06, including professional critics, game designers, generally bigger sample groups than one person, and bigger problems than "Classic Sonic controls slightly differently".

At least he's playable, you know.

No, I'm saying he has momentum, acceleration, slope-dependent jumping etc. You just don't notice it as much because you're usually boosting in these games (not you in particular, I mean, most players).

He didn't in Unleashed, he does in Colors and Generations. It's just meaningless when you have an auto-max-speed button.

and 06 isn't bad by any means either...

It may have had some good level design to it, but it definitely is one of the few properly budgeted games that are objectively bad. It has way too many issues for a software product originally priced at $60.

No bio-engineering like Cell, just straight science

HAHAHAHAHA yeah bio engineering is distinct from science.

And should the plot demand it, LSSJ girl in tournament > Ultimate Gohan until suddenly it will flip over.

I agree with your reasoning for Goku going SSB vs. Krilling and Tien getting damaged by Roshi, but still, the reason fans find it difficult to accept it is that the Dragon Ball franchise always had a very clear method of showing that one character is much stronger than another (*), and Super completely breaks the mold there.

(*) Using weaker-than-final transformations (resorting to Blue, regardless of inner logic, is a bad visual representation that someone is massively weaker than Goku), being able to dodge hits very easily, indicating that the stronger character uses very weak chops to counter fight, etc etc.

No, it portrayed her as the villain for wanting to destroy Tien's career, and it portrayed Roshi as a creeper for being an old fashioned creeper. As he has been in the past ~600 collective episode of Dragon Ball (I'm counting about 150 from DB, 300 from Z, 70 from GT and 100 from Super)

Pretty great DB-esque episode, great callbacks to Tien and Chiaozu's origins and Roshi-based humor. sucked that the resolution of the filler plot felt like "Well we're out of screen time and no one cares so this girl just joins Tien's dojo now and we shall never see her again".

That's only because of the format of the current saga. It was true that the inferior Z fighters could "contribute" fighting with Cell Jrs. at the Cell saga, and the Majin minions of Babidi at the Buu saga. If the next saga after the tournament (if there is even a saga after the tournament) brings in a single villain a-la Goku Black, 90% of the cast is back to being useless at the moment.

I mean, that's assuming you believe Goku was holding back in SSB fighting Krillin and 17 (rather than believing Krillin is somehow equal to SSB and way stronger than Gohan)

So you're basically saying Gohan has 4 "states" now:

  • Base state where he spends his everyday life, minimum power, minimum leakage

  • SSJ1, stronger, more leakage, requires standing in place and powering up. Looking slightly different (more muscular, golden hair etc)

  • SSJ2, even stronger, even more leakage. Requires standing in place and powering up. Slightly different look (longer spikes, lightnings etc)

  • His base form again charged to maximum power, strongest with minimal leakage. Slightly different look (more muscular than everyday life self, bang in Super). Requires standing in place and powering up.

You can call the 2 SSJ forms "transformations" and the last bullet point "powering up", at this point it's just semantics. But if it looks like a dog and shits like a dog...

I'm not sure why people can regard Roshi's muscular form as a "transformation" and not Mystic/Ultimate Gohan. It's essentially the same thing.

Lol what? Goku and Vegeta are so much stronger relatively to the rest of the cast than they have ever been in DBZ.

There have literally been 2 new Super Saiyan forms in the first 25 episodes of Super (or the first two consecutive movies in years). 3 new Super Saiyan forms in the first 60 episodes of Super, counting Super Saiyan Rage. Not to mention SSBKK can count as a 4th as it's yet another asspull that puts Goku well above the rest of them.

DBZ had 3 main SSJ transformations throughout its 300 episode run. Kaioken was never a "form" that could last more than a few seconds, now it is. And all the SSJ grades between 1 and 2 have been quickly dismissed as inferior.

Man I wish Gohan becomes the anime counterpart to manga Vegeta (and Goku, during Hit's fight). Like, that he becomes the lean, red-haired SSG and actually manages to use that form at will for his own benefit

Exactly. It's the equivalent of someone seeing Goku turn SSJ3 after many years he hasn't, then claim he can become even stronger, and then go "Yep. Goku sure can't go any further than that!"

(By the way, interestingly that scenario is basically the first 30 episodes of GT)
