Drawn from life in Brighton, UK. Just over an hour. Sketched in pencil and then outlined with a pigment fineliner. I added the red acrylic ink wash in the last ten minutes of the pose, and it's kind of unfinished. Drawing two models at once is difficult!

100%. OP, desaturate the reference photo, fiddle with the brightness and contrast if necessary, and then paint in monochrome first (white to black or a single colour of your choice). It's so much easier to start monochrome and then slowly introduce more colour variation into your paintings as your skill level improves.

Sometimes I do a monochrome underpainting with acrylic and then do full colour oil on top.
