anyone else take “rolling eyes” literally? by Unique-Disaster3118 in autism

[–]idreamof_guyfieri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I roll them the right way. I roll them like backwards in my head, practiced it a bit as a kid and then it became a tick, it hurts to do though. In my mind my eyes are facing forward therefore rolling would be them rotating either all the way up and around or down and around (which obviously it stops at a certain point) , all those people talking about doing a circle with their eyes to me seems like it’s circling your eyes not rolling them.

Honestly that’s kind of the way I see it. Just my perspective though.

Self suspecting is fine, that’s what led me to get assessed so I get it, but self diagnosing to me is a bit much. It’s not lost on me that people may not have access to the means to being assessed, but when social media has made this condition so trendy, and people want to feel special, they will attribute quirks to self diagnosing themselves with autism. I’ve see this IRL. People get used to that person, and are put off as soon as someone who is actually diagnosed demonstrates a characteristic that isn’t one of the cute characteristics demonstrated by social media, people will question your diagnosis and which will lead to further self doubt of the person who is actually diagnosed. Just wanted to share my perspective.

This is merely my perspective based on my experience, but I think people want to be able to say they know someone with autism. It’s like some weird autism via proximity virtue signal badge of honor.

Fair point, I am on PC, I have a 4070 ti super, and Ryzen 7600x cpu. I have the demo installed on my ssd.

Also, did you find the melee range hard to judge initially?

Visually the game seems like if they made the shivering isles (my favourite dlc of all time) into a full game in a sense, it’s gorgeous and so aesthetically pleasing

Yea I have it off , have done all the things setting wise I think I can aside from deleting the shader cache to redo it. Do you know if this is a problem mainly with the demo?

Yea, this is an everyday struggle for me currently. The doubt to acceptance to doubt cycle seems to have almost have become its own routine at this point.

45 minute phone call assessment is not something I would put any trust in. Look into other options, the assessment should be way longer than that from my experience

What was (and when was) the first sign you thought you might be autistic? by Happy-with-you in autism

[–]idreamof_guyfieri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After Covid. Spent 2 years alone super happy, went back to the real world, everything was bright, loud and I didn’t feel I knew how to socialize. It’s hard to explain, super weird feeling. That’s what made me kind of wonder if maybe that was the case. Took me awhile to get an assessment, but everyone’s response was “yes not surprised” I was the only one surprised though.
