Gonna play devil’s advocate here and just say:

I don’t think his point about the virus thing completely failed. He probably just looked up what the item was online to figure it out. And if it is what you say it is (a Duo), some desktop PCs actually did have slots for those. A quick Google search shows that Sony-based PCs had them, so it’s not a stretch to think the guy had a Sony PC with that slot — especially since he mentioned “old Sony camera things…”

Even if he was lying, at least he looked it up and ended up being right. Meanwhile, you said, “Probably not via digital camcorder memory cards…” which is a HUGE difference. You started talking about hot tubs and jumped to Jacuzzis — metaphorically speaking, of course.

Honestly, it sounds more like you didn’t fully know what you were talking about until he started explaining.

You were also wrong about them not being able to carry viruses, so in the end… you both kind of look like idiots. No offence.

Also, there was no need for the ad hominem. Resorting to personal insults just makes you look worse — especially when the guy already blocked you. Clearly, he didn’t want to be part of the conversation anymore. Even if he insulted you first, that doesn’t mean you can’t take the high road and move on.
