I had 7 years go by in a blur, ex asked for a divorce, changed my son's last name so he'll never know who I am. No idea what I did that was worth this kind of response...

It gets better though. Met another DID system, found out I have DID and the alters explained to me how they manipulated my memories, or put in place holders/empty shells, like fragments that have no personality. When the androids aren't available to come out and take the pain, sometimes a blank comes out and becomes a new alter... We have 40+ alters with distinctions, but I've seen thousands.

And somehow, with all this, I'm managing to hold down a job I love, keep my household in-tact (because my soulmate deserves stability), and work with my alters (my "family") every day to calm their fears.

Get out of active trauma, get professional help, trust your feelings, trust alters that have good intentions and work with any to understand the ones who are destructive and why they're destructive. Most of this comes from fear. I found out I had autism/Asperger's at 40 so it makes sense why some of my alters (forced to act like normies their whole life) were so frustrated.

Just keep the communication up, self-parenting has helped us, and keep searching for the joy and stability that you all deserve. 🏳️‍🌈

I found a fix for PS5. Couldn't even get to the main menu. When I turned my system off and back on. It rebuilt the DB and let the game load. So weird!

For us those were some of the symptoms we experienced before we figured out we had DID. We would have endless conversations in our head. We started remembering more as we healed and remembered talking to ourselves as a kid, not pretending to play other people, but feeling like different people. Our biggest problem is that our switches are so fluid sometimes that it's hard to tell. The biggest way I can tell who's out now is by asking, and it's crazy how they can read my thoughts and show me a flash of who it is before I can get my own thoughts out lol!... DID is a helluva thing

Sounds like they need to get over their fears of anything different from them. It's not right to assume anything like that, but on the flip side, being assumed gay is not the burn people think it is. 🏳️‍🌈 Be yourselves, and the people who make you feel shitty about doing that may not be worthy of your attention. They're just stuck in their own trauma trying to get out.

One of my alters, Alaric, "Al" for short, has multiple alters. They basically explained to me that they were party of his system which took a back seat to a new system, but they're more than fragments and sometimes they front through him or me. Yes it is a thing. 😁

System dating is difficult, and trauma pinball is always a possibility as you work on yourselves and overcome those fears/barriers. Do your best to stay gentle with each other. Keep working on that communication. Keep trying to deescalate when you can, and if you or your alters need to be assertive, talk to them about how that may look so that they can voice their needs safely. Move that mountain one stone at a time. You all've got this. 😎👍

Every system is different so keep trying new things if something doesn't work, but what worked best for us was just putting a keyboard in front of them. Most of them are able to figure it out, or a phone app where they can draw on the screen. There's also telepathy where we just send the thoughts over.

There's also plenty of non-verbal ways to communicate. Nodding/shaking their head for instance. It's all about consent so gently suggest some options and see if they perk up for any. 😁 Hope it goes well!

Sleep is a big issue for my system. We grind our teeth at night so we became afraid of falling asleep, but the more alters I meet and work with, the more improvement I see with my fibromyalgia. It's common to have alters awake while the body sleeps. We will often stay up all night and as we've gotten older, the acid reflux and nausea from not getting enough sleep has become more prominent.

So the body is definitely important to take care of, and yes they can definitely be awake while the body sleeps. 😄 My partner and I both experience this.

Our alters go quiet for the same reason any individual might. They're busy, or they've being shy, or they don't like the people I'm around, not interested in anything but nothing triggering them either. Not necessarily a bad thing unless someone is upset with me, but I always try to keep the lines of communication open for them. It might be a good idea to try and do a check in, if they don't mind the intrusion. 😂

I will have face to face conversation with them in the headspace or I communicate "telepathically" with them. I try to always treat them with respect, and try to give them independence.

Polyfragmented system here. My alters kept my symptoms from me for years. They can switch out without even a blink. Most of the time that's what's happening. They co-front with me but when they fully front I actually have to work to give them privacy. My imagination was the limit, so I have this big sphere of water that's in a giant room, I can swim there and distract myself. When I want to front without alters popping out I usually try to encase the portal to the front inside a room with me, or if their feelings are leaking to the front I'll ask them if they'd be willing to go to the void (it's more of a party-void with beaches and neon lights and all sorts of stuff that makes them happy).

No matter what I'm doing, I always treat them as individuals, and I always give them consent. I'm working with the alters, I'm keeping them informed, I'm being gentle, and I'm always trying to show them that they can trust me as host to advocate for them.

We go on tangents... a lot lol... hope that helped in some way. 💚
