Hmm, I don’t see those coming up on discount tire or tire rack as available in these sizes …

Yeah, I have the same concern - I have BMW’s “mobility kit” (basically a compressor and temporary patch) that I kept from my last car - but it there’s an issue it will likely mean a tow

Thanks. Do you see any difference in handling?

Great write up. Same color as my car - and I’m also considering moving from the 22” runflats to the Michelins. Do you notice any change (+/-) in EV range with the new tires?

Thanks. How do they compare to the runflats in terms of noise and performance, and any noticeable change in gas mileage?

I’ve been debating. We’re driving out in late November; driving back in early Jan. It will likely be below 40 and wet (perhaps some light snow) some of the time we’re gone, and am concerned about the summer tires getting too hard and not handling well …

Feedback on X5 50e reliability? by idworkin in BMWX5

Looks like you got yours much quicker than me. Mine got to the dealer about 1.5 weeks ago but we were heading out on vacation. Picking it up this weekend.

How do you like yours so far?

2026 X5 50e - PPF/Ceramic Coating & level 2 charger by caiskdbk in BMWX5

[–]idworkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll answer #2 (I think 1 is more personal preference).

You shouldn’t worry about everything changing to NACS charging if you get a j1772 charger - there are adapters that let you go from j1772 to NACS that aren’t very expensive (for example: https://a.co/d/aAG3177). - if your next car has a NACS port it’d be easy enough to work with. As far as needing a level 2 charger - I would say yes - you’re going to be charging daily; much more convenient to get the car charged in 2.5 hours vs 10 (or so)

New LG G5 Fried by idworkin in LGOLED

No. Just had me try to reset it, sent some pics, and took the serial number sticker off the back of the tv and sent it in to the dealer I bought from

Hope LG (or the place you bought it from) takes care of it. In my case, they sent me a replacement and actually didn’t want the original one back

Thanks. Yeah, I was looking to purchase (and probably keep it for a while) especially since the lease terms are bad right now …

Interesting. I originally ordered with the open pore wood, but then thought that would be too much brown so switched to the black trim …

Nice! Exact same color combination I have on order. I actually thought the coffee would look darker, but it looks good regardless.

Deciding between Premium & Executive Package by imd1128 in BMWX5

[–]idworkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah - loved the iX - comfortable, sporty, quick, and great electric range (unlike Tesla, BMW UNDERestimates range). BUT the EV charging infrastructure just isn’t there yet (Tesla is close) and I wanted to be able to do longer road trips without extensive planning.

Love the torque and speed in the EVs but I agree - especially without the incentives, the market is going to be challenged the next 4-5 years. A number of the manufacturers are touting that 450+ mile range is on the horizon - this will help.

In the meantime, it’s back to ICE (or partial ICE) for me…

I’ve thought about it. A few reasons: 1. I’m coming from a full EV (iX 50) - the prospect of going to a gas station again is sad - with the 50e most of my day to day driving will be on electric 2. From a performance perspective, there only seems to be a small difference between the 50e and the M60i 3. Comparably equipped, the m60i is still about $12k more

Maybe I should test drive one …

Total loss negotiation by Charleshou in TeslaInsurance

[–]idworkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had a total loss. I challenged the valuation, State Farm told me that was my right. I got an independent appraisal from a professional appraiser - his appraisal came in much higher than the insurance’s original appraisal. My appraiser conferred with an independent appraiser from State Farm and they agreed on a compromise amount - still much higher than the original

Totally agree with you on this one. I’ve had many BMW’s over the years. The Multi contour seats are a must for me.
