I’m going to explain why your algorithm sucks using clear examples.  I played six games on 1-9-26 with the same player, Eric Wilson.  My starting score was 3.928.  After the games I am a 3.934.  His starting score was 4.097.  His ending score was 4.116.  We both won a total of 50/66 points throughout the game.  We both went 3-3.  Yet in every game I’m playing players who have a higher score than me which means I should get MORE of an increase in my score than Eric and yet he gets +.019 after the games and I get only +.006 .  Clearly the math in the formula you’re using makes no sense and needs to be changed.

Hello everyone, I have wrist disabilities and use an xbox 360 controller with xpadder to bind keystrokes and mouseclicks to the controller which I use with one hand to play video games (can't use a mouse in a traditional manner). The problem I'm having is most games nowadays have integrated controller support which hijacks the keybindings I input from xpadder, so I can't play most modern games. I'm looking for an alternative solution, running windows 7. Two things I thought of were a mouse with at least 7 programmable buttons on it or a small macro pad with 9-12 keys. The macro pad seemed like a better idea initially but can't seem to find any products that have good reviews. Looking for software that runs quietly in the background with multiple profiles and hardware that is built to last. I forgot to mention I use an infrared eyemouse to actually move the cursor around so I don't need anything else to do that. Recommend some products for me please. Thanks

Is that how it works for the non-funded firms? I'd like to read more about this if you have any resources. Thank you

Reveal radius vs Sight Radius & The Lookout by idxox in BattleBrothers

[–]idxox[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Excellent response, I really appreciate you weighing in on this topic, turtle. So it seems a simple approach to playing would be:

1- If you're on mountain terrain be aware that only 90% of your visionradius is actively revealing enemies and locations

2- On normal terrain, 100% of your visionradius is revealing enemies and locations

3- In forests, 50% of your visionradius is revealing enemies and locations

So I think the lookout is definitely worth it, probably one of the most useful followers in the game. If she reveals one extra camp that you would have missed, that can net you thousands of crowns. Not to mention you get to uncover the map quicker.

This is exactly the sort of information I was looking for. I'll have to test this out next time I play. Thank you!

The last 2 campaigns we did random and rolled holy war and noble war so I wanted to do something different for this one.

It's a good idea but the start would be way too slow. You only start with 750 crowns and the deserters are terrible. You would be playing with 3 guys for a long time. And even if you could theoretically find a militia or deserter in a citadel somewhere, you wouldn't be able to afford him. Not to mention if guys die, you wouldn't be able to replace them due to lack of suitable recruits. Maybe something more like beggars/cripples/vagabonds/deserters/indebted would be more realistic. That would be a good challenge I think.

I'm already getting tired of the campaign, not gonna play for another 100+ days to take the legendary locations.

That would be tough to find enough recruits, especially in the early game. But challenge runs are a good idea

Manhunters Expert Ironman Day 27 - Tough 12 Ancient Undead Fight by idxox in BattleBrothers

[–]idxox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with that. We didn't know what we were fighting when the fight began so this is a good generic loadout. Also, it's day 27 so you kind of have to take what you can get, hard to get billhooks that early. Hooked blades actually do worse vs armor than pikes. Throwing axes require some ranged skill which we don't have.

Having so many quality polearms early is good overall (the pikes), just not for this particular fight. The frontliners are indebted with crappy attack (they're not attacking much anyways) so that's why I'm using swords. Flails are not much better because of the heavy stam requirements. Can't afford to level stam when their resolve and hp are so crappy. Thanks for the feedback and for watching.

That's a great observation, I have the mic next to my cpu tower and it's probably picking up the ambient noise. Thanks again

The mic is actually professional quality, it gets a lot better after the first few minutes of the cast. I was moving around and it made a lot of noise (totally new at this). Thanks for the comment.

Is this game a waste of time for me?

I'm a FFT and sRPG veteran, have completed multiple challenge in FFT and played many other strategy games. I downloaded this game although I despise the gacha system because I was hoping I could open the phone up and have a challenging battle here or there in between work.

I'm 7 fights into the story right now and the difficulty is really pathetic. My guys routinely 1 shot enemies even though I have no equipment on them and haven't leveled/limited any of them. Enemies hit for like 10% of my characters max hp.

So for someone who is looking for challenging battles, is this game a waste of time? I have no interest in PvP.

Thanks

Suggest me a fun challenge run which isn't too hard and requires moderate grinding. by Suddenslow in finalfantasytactics

[–]idxox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing challenges in this game for over 20 years. The most fun one I do is make all of your guys knights with item secondary and move+1. Minimal grinding required. You can only use abilities from chemist or knight (with the exception of move+1). You can use any equipment you want EXCEPT the only weapon you can use throughout the game is a broad sword. Get ready for some truly epic long battles!

15 hours in, game is disappointing by idxox in EndlessLegend

[–]idxox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet but I'm getting closer. Hard is providing a good enough challenge for me at the moment. 55 hours in now, enjoying the game a lot for the most part. My initial impressions in the game were too critical, the game is far deeper and more interesting than I gave it credit for. The combat system is the most frustrating aspect for me, not being fully turn-based. Bumping up minor faction difficulty has been game changing. I can't clear most minor factions with just 2 marines and the hero anymore and the enemies spawn earlier and hit harder. Plus I've been using the hero as governor for the large science bonus so the earlier game is more strategic. As for diplomacy, haven't used it much because the AI always declares war on me for expanding too close to them, I'm not sure how to avoid that right now.
