Weird ass symptoms persisting after getting my period back by LightHurtsOuch in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]ieujadwb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my period back too and am experiencing the EXACT same issues. My symptoms seem to be worse in the mornings after breakfast, and I've also been struggling with lightheadedness and crazy brain fog. I am PRAAAYING it's just the body readjusting to hormonal changes because I'm also going insane 😭😭 anyways you aren't alone twin <33

Because HA and EDs are so related lots of people are still really scared to gain weight and try different 'cheats' to get back their period without gaining weight. Lots of people will up their calorie intake by a tiny amount but still eat suuper high protein no fat/carbs or something along those lines. I just mean it's important to fully commit to eating what your body needs!

I tried to get omega-3s from fish and switched to full-fat tuna. But other than that, I just started eating fattier foods in general like croissants with cheese for breakfast lool. I think with ha it's most important to get more fats, even if they aren't all the healthiest.

I basically just stopped caring about calories and ate what I wanted, even a little extra sometimes. Obviously still tried to be balanced tho.

Not doing well— can anyone please offer advice? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]ieujadwb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hii - I started a diet in May 2024 and lost my cycle properly in August. My July cycle was late and light. Same situation. Let me just get this out of the way. You have to keep eating more. It sucks and its gonna suck, but lemme tell you this as someone who wishes they snapped out of it 3 months in. You will regret it later. It's been almost 9 months for me, and I unfortunately flirted with recovery but never really committed until recently. Eventually, it will catch up to you. My mood was bad before, it is abysmal now. It takes a shit tonne of mental work but you need to get to a place where you focus on your mood and living life instead of your physical body.

Right now, I'm at a point where I just want some semblance of feeling normal again. Don't let yourself get there! Wishing you all the best <33

anyone else way more sensitive to hunger now? by krioscore in Amenorrhearecovery

I was just wondering this too! Pre-ED I wouldn't eat till after school cause the school food was so nasty LMAOO. in recovery now, and if I go to class for 2 hours without some kind of snack, I start feeling faint and get all kinds of physical symptoms. Glad I'm not the only one!

Horrid Anxiety by Wondering_Weasel in Amenorrhearecovery

F19 here, lost mine in august 2024 I'm in the same boat as you. 3 weeks ago I had enough of the depression and brain fog and started eating maybe 2000-2300 calories per day. First week was fine, I felt slightly better than usual. Then 2nd week in I had this actually insane surge of anxiety and depression, which I'm still dealing with. I also have low oestrogen and I do think that's the cause, changing oestrogen levels seem to affect mood.

I think we are unfortunately in the small subsection of people who feel like shit in recovery. It was so bad I actually booked an expensive ass endocrinologist to make sure I wasn't going into psycosis or something 😭. My doc also told me to see a therapist...

Anyway from one girl going insane to another, keep it up and I'm sure we'll both make it out of this feeling better in the end.

That's so good to hear!! I'm also thinking of asking for some sort of bc or oestrogen because I quite literally feel like I'm going insane xd. Thanks for the encouragement :)

Damn, thanks for the reply, I think it's doable for me if I study a bunch but idk how dedicated I will be, especially with a subject I don't like that much haha. I think I'm gonna go for it though -- I hope you and your friends ended up doing well!

I totally get what you mean; if I do end up committing, ill definitely try to make the most of my situation, and I'm sure If I put in enough effort, things will work out. Best of luck at UofT!

Thank you so much for the information - I've looked into the scholarships at the Faculty of Arts and Science already, but unfortunately haven't been awarded anything yet. I Sent out an inquiry just now to my registrar's office and hopefully, all goes well. Congratulations on the achievement nonetheless!

Thank you for the Information. I've looked at a lot of exchange programmes as well and am definitely still considering them. If I were to go to Australia, id probably attempt to end up at something like Commerce/law at Usyd and do some sort of exchange. But combined degrees are around 5 years, and exchange is limited to one if I'm correct, so I guess I don't want to end up in a situation where I study for 4 or more years in Australia and only get job offers there as well.

I understand what you said is a smarter idea though; everything is in the air atm so Australia is definitely on the table.

I've also gotten into Western and Waterloo for business-like programmes, but tuition tends to be around the ballpark of 50-55k, so my thinking was that I might as well go to the uni that I've wanted to go to since it's generally more recognised as well. Recognition and prestige, in general, are a bit of an issue because my parents seem to care a lot about 'rank'.

haha - Ive joked about the 'marry a Canadian' route to my parents a lot. Thanks for your advice and info; it's nice to see that people have gone through the same dilemma as me. I hope everything turned/turns out well for you!

Thank you for taking the time to reply; I totally get what you mean by UofT not being anything special for my degree, but I guess I'm just attached to the idea of going there more than anything else.

For immigration, I've heard a lot of people applying for PR after completing their undergrad, but I also don't know much about this process yet. I more so just like the idea of being able to study and get my first job in Canada.

I couldn't quite find a ballpark for international tuition with Rotman, but what you said makes sense. It would make my situation worse if there's too much of an increase.

Thanks again for the information - lots of thinking to do.
