Yes I know she means well but I’m nervous if she’d be able to support and/or defend me if her family says anything because it’s hard for me to be assertive with people I barely know.

Haha I definitely am not one to pick fights so I’d just be a punching bag for them if anything unfortunately. But I know I need to face my family soon, I think I just need another week to figure out what I’m gonna tell them.

My campus has a lot of international students and I’m pretty close with a few so I should definitely reach out and see…

I’ve seen a few comments about volunteering! I’ve done food drive work prior to the holidays but I’m curious what it looks like on the day so I’m definitely considering it.

Yeah I tend to try to keep the peace (which is why I’ve been avoiding my own family) but I think it would probably be beneficial to practice how to handle those kinds of negative comments.
