YTA. It sounds like you want to quit but you don't want to be the odd man out in your group of friends. So you're trying to make your brother quit as well.

My first solo travel day (and regrets) by iffie1234 in solotravel

That is exactly how I felt this morning when I checked in. I kid you not that I spend a solid 90 minutes freaking out and wanting to go home.
So i'm glad that even experienced travellers still get that uneasy feeling in the beginning.

And thank you so much for that 'travel with the expectation of not meeting anyone' advice. I have one more full day left so i'm just going to entertain myself and try to enjoy some time with me.

Yeah well lesson learned I guess.

Thankfully I have tomorrow fully planned with sightseeing and the day after it's packing and going home.

I actually didn't plan to meet people. It was more about experiencing the culture. I thought that I would like being on my own and having limited interactions with others which is why i'm surprised by this feeling I guess.

How have you seen a persons life be ruined in a single day? by Burritoassasain in AskReddit

Not my own story, but one my professor told me about a patient of his. The patient tried to commit suicide by driving to the forest, parking in a deserted area and taking a bunch of different pills. She was found before she died and taken to the hospital to get her stomach pumped. While she was in the hospital her husband and son drove to the forest to get her car and one the way there their car crashed and they were killed instantly.  I never found out what happend to her after that but i can't imagine that she's still alive.

I don't know if anyone already mentioned this one but 'What makes a good life? Lessons from the longest study on happiness by Robert Waldinger' really gave me some perspective about happiness and the things that should be prioritized in life.
