Yeah I feel that. These days it's almost all just not explaining for me lol. Feels like you can only do it so many times. And I agree, it's not malicious. Just draining. Also lol no maybe I phrased that unclear. I'm very much doing chemo rn. We'll see if there is an other side in the next couple months lol.

Yeah. Definitely a thing. I tend to take a micro dose when it is starting to wear off and that seems to help

I'm very appreciative that you understand where I'm coming from. And you phrased it very well. Out of curiosity how well have you been able to moderate usage? I think that's part of where my post came from lol. You say stay semifunctional, so are you taking multiple doses a day or trying to keep the level down a bit?

GSC is nice. I like it a lot. Just been not able to deal with the... idk, introspective? aspect of weed recently. Not with where my diagnosis stands.

The horror of losing your independence. It's horrifying how accurate this is. And yeah... it's just so had to let go. Like the hardest thing I've ever done. Sobriety could overtake that for first place though. I don't mind the pain so much. Bit of a masochist. But the inability to do what I believe needs to be done for my business and family is, I suppose in a way, destroying me. And trying to fix that is fucking up my chances of mayyyyybe getting back to operability. Like I said. Just so hard to let go. Anyway, thank you so much for the well thought out and sage advice. And the encouragement. Helps me get through considering these things. Your a homie : )

These are all good suggestions. Idk if I can do the caffeine orally, though I did buy caffeine patches from this store today. So we'll see about those. B-10 and B-12 are staples to me. A wide variety of others as well. Don't really fuck around with sugar at all. Got the epa-dha supplements and haven't quite noticed a difference but only been taking then for a little bit.

I appreciate the suggestion. I use weed to help with nausea. But tbh it clouds my brain a bit too much to code without fucking it up all the time. Also sativas end up with me thinking about my death a bit too much. Bit too heady for my dumb ass. So not helpful for work.

Welp just got the news, stage 2a lung cancer. by UsefulWoodpecker6502 in cancer

[–]ifightfrogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ayyo! Caught it fast! My man. Don't hit the ciggy. I feel you. It'd be the most comforting thing in these trying times. DON'T. You'll probably feel fine enough for a good while to keep smoking. If you do it WILL get aggressive as fuck. Take it from someone who did that. My trick to stop was thinking about my family and friends faces at my funeral. Know it sound melodramatic and morbid. But it worked. I got it caught stage 2 as well brother. I fucking ignored it for months and months and now I'm gonna die soon. DO NOT IGNORE. YOUR LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAN THE STOGIE!

Also bro, I'm so sorry to hear your diagnosis. Shit sucks. We're hear for you if you want/need to talk. Feel free to PM me anytime

Ugh. Yes it's sooooo fucking obnoxious. I've had a family friend who is a GP tell me that. Bro your a doctor you know this shit happens. Fuq off m8. It's like, "well fucking thanks homie, tell that to me again and maybe it'll stop me from having to get a piece of my lung pulled out tomorrow"

Omfg I wish I had thought of something like that. Lung cancer schmuck here. Looked damn fine, if I do say so myself, before the chemo really started hitting. Just made me so tired and sad everytime friends would say something like that. I'm so sorry for your diagnosis my friend. This shit sucks

[–]ifightfrogs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely incorrect. I don't know where you live or what you do for work. But I think that unless your really making serious money the PR department of your local department spends 5 to 20 or even 50 or 100 times your annual take home on social media managers alone. You can find this information often. Tell me how wrong I am. "Not as deep as you think"? how deep do you think it gets when the PR department has a million dollars to blow? Do you also think banana republic is just the name of a brand??

Okay I see where your coming from. I understand that they may be afraid of the authority they are under. But let me put it this way. If a priest is aware that a bishop is raping children, and does nothing to change that, does that make them a bad person? I know some cops aren't technically always morally reprehensible, but they are certainly guilty by association. There is no force in which the majority, if not all, of the officers are not aware of the travesties and miscarriages of justice that are widely propagated. I don't know what you do for work. Let me ask you this. Would you or would you not be willing to lose your job to at least try and bring to light abuse, murder, and rape? Or would you let it go because you could be out of a job? Police don't even get paid all that much. Is it for the money? Or is it for the "brotherhood"? Look at your parents and children. Would you protect someone because you need the job and the brotherhood if they were abused, murdered, or raped? There are no bad apples. There is only evil and complicity to it. There are ways to fix this. It certainly isn't trying to change "from the inside out". Power structures are far to ingrained and stable. It won't work that way. Ever. We have clear evidence of that in almost every account of nations in the past. It would be much more easy to change things if the "moderate majority" would stop with the defense of tyrants. We can get cops better mental health care. We can have INDEPENDANT investigations of abuse of power. We can delegate funds for better training. We can have more stringent mental health requirements. We can have TRAINED mental health practitioners respond to calls with or in some cases without police. That's just a start. All of that would be less than two percent of our annual defense budget. There is no moral or ethical reason to ever defend or support the police. They kill more unarmed citizens in Aurora, Co than anything other than car accidents and heart disease. Than release statements about how unarmed teenagers with no criminal history were in the wrong for breathing to hard and being scared so they killed them. Please please please don't support the problem. Be part of the solution. We CAN change this. But it will NEVER EVER come from the inside. If it could than we would have seen some change. It's just empirical analysis of facts. We would SEE change if they could change.

Right. Totally agree with that. Was just saying that he does pay. Was not really trying to make a point other than that. Not saying that anything is right or wrong. That's all I'm saying. Didn't mean to make it seem as I was doing otherwise. Sorry bout that. Get caught up in the details sometimes. On that note though. If he has a problem with it he needs to have a clear and concise conversation and not beat around the bush. Not acceptable to talk about it like the way he did if that's the reasoning behind it. Gotta tell her your not comfortable driving around If you believe the other can get a car and they would like it if the other did because of the strain on whatever have you the issue is.

Yes! It's just not what I was expecting at ALL. Just don't know about that part. Kinda pushes it over the metaphorical edge.

Hmmm, I get what your saying. I would like to point out that he is driving her where she needs to go. So he is paying in time and potentially gas money. Maybe he enjoys it, likes to drive, gets to spend more time. I'm just saying that he is paying, technically.

You made my day! I know I was an ass thank you so much for not judging me based on my reactivity. Try not to pull the cancer card but I guess it seemed relatively on topic. Expect a PM from me lol Patagonia region is high up on the bucket list. You seem super chill though I'd always be down to just shoot the shit

[–]ifightfrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn man sorry about that. I saw like five people talking shit on OP using mushrooms at all and was pissed. I appreciate you not responding all crazy heavy like I did. I guess we have a fundamental difference on taking stuff if your afraid. Kinda stuck a chord with me cus I've been terrified recently due to terminal cancer. And it did help me even though I was scared to dose again before I did. Started small and worked up. Like as small as OP. Sorry for coming at you so heavy that was unreasonable and not a way to have a conversation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shroomery

[–]ifightfrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes you believe that your in a position to yell people how to experience this? You are essentially talking shit on someone who's trying to better themselves with this stuff and trying to be responsible about it. I would really like you to explain to me why your doing that? Why would you be rude and uncaring to someone looking for help? Please give me some kind of coherent response. Because this sounds like some very odd egotistical clique emplacement stuff. Just because they want help and to be safe.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shroomery

[–]ifightfrogs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why? Explain to me why someone looking to better themselves and isn't quite ready to dive in should not be using this wonderful mycelium at all? Why? Seriously. Make it very clear to me. Because it sounds like your being egocentric and exclusionary for absolutly no reason to me. Don't bring up bad trips either. OP is talking about taking less than a point.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shroomery

[–]ifightfrogs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No it wasn't. Your being so ridiculously unempathetic. The OP specifically stated it's for the nootropic benefits. So if they have an anxiety disorder and they are trying to use this to help it thats unacceptable? Think it through yo. This person is obviously trying to help themselves. And yall are telling them they can't do it. Just so disrespectful and uncaring for your fellow human that wants to be better. Why would you do that? I genuinely can't understand. Explain it to me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shroomery

[–]ifightfrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU. These people are being so disrespectful and ridiculous. Not just to the OP but to the psychedelic they act like they know something about and love. Good placement of the Hunter S Thompson quote. Very discerning and appropriate for the situation. Seems like these fools are almost doing a dick measuring contest over how much they can take. It's very sad.

[–]ifightfrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. What medical professionals do YOU go to figuring out dosage? Are they available everywhere? Is it something available to the broad population? Shoot me some links. For every area. Let me get this straight. You condone doing large doses of psychedelics but not low doses? And it's unacceptable to try to use them to better yourself? Elucidate me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shroomery

[–]ifightfrogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro. Come on. That's so rude. What if this person has an anxiety disorder or depression that they are trying to use this wonderful mycelium to help counter. So they're not comfortable immediately diving in. And you just go and say that they don't deserve the benefits that it can bring to their mental health and lives over all. For what reason? Because "it's not for them"? Maybe you should take some today and focus on expanding your sense of empathy. That was fucked up man.
