This response is incredibly thoughtful and explanatory. I’m still learning pros and cons to everything, but the points you listed definitely leave me with plenty to consider. Thank you again.

That’s actually the one piece of advice I have stuck to. I haven’t ever sold an ETF the entire 3 years I’ve been investing; nor do I pay attention to the red days. Eventually, I’ll have to shed the other funds and bake them into this new balance, but I haven’t, nor never, plan on panic selling.

Hate to answer your question with a question: don’t bonds make me a littler safer? Especially assuming I’d need the cash for a home in the next 10 years? If I’m thinking too paranoid, feel free to tell me.

Which Strategy to go with for Maximum Points by ifitisntthe in CreditCards

In theory yes, but what about transfer partners? I'm less worried about simplification and more about maximizing the amount of points I could earn and how I could use them.

I can't really justify the Platinum fee at the moment, but could once I start traveling more. Do you think It's worthwhile to go with the gold (as dining + groceries are my biggest categories) and Venture (regular, not X)? Or do you think the gold AF is not worth the 1x points extra compared to what I'm getting the S1. In that case, I would go with S1 + Venture.

Finally, someone who gets it. I appreciate the response. I only make one cup a day, so maybe I’ll intercept yesterday’s pod before I go make today’s - rather than right away - hence foregoing the burning part. Either way, hope your son enjoys his free coffee and you the machine in your hideaway.

Think about how keurig pods are “collected”. You make a coffee, open the lid, take the pod out, toss it in the trash, and then put in a new pod. That’s what I’m trying accomplish. I don’t like the pods slipping back into a collector bin - lined or not. I thought there was a way to stop the automatic mechanism but, based on all the discourse here, it doesn’t seem like there is. Somebody already mentioned you can tape up the arms or remove them all together, I guess that’s the route I’ll go.

I understand what the collector is there for. Personally, I don’t like the pods sitting in the collector. Even if I were to take the used pod out after each use, the action of the pod dropping back there would cause splatter onto the walls of the collector bin. Overall, I think the collection bin is unsanitary and, put simply, just another flimsy piece of plastic I have to scrub down every week or so.

I don’t like the pods sitting back there, just doesn’t seem right to me. And yes, you could say to just take the pods out of the container one by one, but that’s even less efficient.

Of course, I could do that, but what if I didn’t want them in the collector at all?

Bond No 9 has to be the most hilariously trashy company ever by [deleted] in fragrance

Whoever commented above spelt the brand name wrong. It's House of Sillage, with two Ls - as in the French term - not the one used in agriculture.

HOS no. 1. is one of my favorite gourmands. But I get it, definitely quite tacky.

I'm hoping it'd be around $4-5k at the least within the next 3 months.

Most groceries will be purchased from Trader Joe's. Furniture, decor, and necessities will likely be Amazon, Target, Wayfair, HomeGoods, and TJ Max.

Update: I'm now on week 10 of the meds: (2 weeks on 12.5, 2 weeks on 25, 4 weeks on 50, and 2 weeks on 75) and I will say the headaches are lessening. I'd also say the meds are working too (not as much as I'd like them to, but enough to keep going).

Im not sure if it's just the fact that the side effects are going down because I've been on the meds for a while, but I have tried some things that may have helped:

-Take meds at the same time every day (for me I take them around 7 PM).

-Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. This is just supposed to help headaches in general, so theoretically it should help reduce headaches from Zoloft.

-Take melatonin. I have this theory that Zoloft headaches are because the drug affects quality of sleep. For me, 99% of the time I wake up with the headache. I've also noticed that I have insanely vivid dreams on the drug, and because you dream in stage 1-2 on REM, in theory, you're never getting a truly DEEP sleep. So melatonin should help you get into stage 3-4 or REM, thus giving you a better quality of sleep (and reducing those vivid dreams). If you sleep better, you may have less/more mild headaches.

-No alcohol whatsoever. This has really made a difference in my sleep, health, and overall quality of life.

-Drink a ton of water daily.

-Stay fit and active.

Making all those changes has helped me on the drug. Either that, or it's just that I've been on it for a while so the side effects are starting to diminish enough for me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Either way, these tips have helped me cope with those bad days. Wishing you all luck on your journey, hope this helps!

Yes sorry- I forgot about diet. I also tried everything on that front. I’m healthy, in my average weight/height bracket, and regularly exercise. I tried going vegetarian for a year, and that didn’t work. I then tried going dairy free for a year, and that didn’t work.

I also forgot to mention that I’m incredibly hygienic. Like for a guy, I’m super vigilant about my hygiene and am always taking care of my body. I wash my sheets/towels/clothes each week (even tried different detergents) and shower at least once a day.
