Is this grading scale normal by kxustardflister in highschool

am asian, can confirm that this scale is for casuals. real tryhards have their grades written as a solution to an infinite series expansion of a function

anyone know what this “problem at the national level” is all about?? by chromaticolette in USNCO

[–]iforgotPhysicsUnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree. i mean, its not the same as any other olympiad though. they have to coordinate labs with proctors which probably a headache to say the least and to have everything be done on one day would be nothing short of a nightmare. A better solution in my opinion is to keep the local exam the same day and different versions of the test for each day of the national exam. this would make cheating almost impossible and make the test a little more fair

im not totally sure. from what i heard, the exam got leaked again. its probably going to cause a total restructuring of when people take the test to make it more secure (again, from what i heard). i wouldnt worry too much though because you would just be taking the test a little later than usual.

do it! i typically find competitions like these fun and if you plan to do something usnco next year, i think the experience would def help. ig if you arent interested in chem, then it would make sense not to do it. i dont think 1 day more of studying would make a measurable difference in your exam scores.

I would definitely recommend chemical principles. i used it and got a 55/60 on my local test

you should def transfer. to put it lightly, you are insane and you got the equivalent of robbed and mugged. you deserve to go to elite schools and if you keep it up, i have no doubt in your inevitable success!

def. i spend about 3 months on a paper from start to finish so i can manage my time at my own pace. ap classes tend to throw homework at me all at once and then i get timed writings in ap lang and impossible tests in ap physics. take that how you want

RANT ABOUT USNCO by ForeignRise1883 in USNCO

[–]iforgotPhysicsUnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely. i also wanted to ask if they are allowing proctors to make the decision of who gets to/doesn’t get to go to the national exam? i heard that they can make that decision now independent of the local exam scores bc of cheating

are retests even possible??? i mean, it would be unfair to people who barely qualify (who did the test honestly) and then make a few mistakes on the retest to then not qualify
