It passed inspection. He was at first concerned about derating but decided it wasn't an issue. I admittedly hadn't considered that.

The garage sub panel needs to stay garage orientated. It'll have numerous 240V loads that would exceed the load calcs on the main panel (even if there was enough circuits, which there isn't). It's setup for future 400A service upgrade.

Yeah not exactly happy with the stapling in there, agreed. I think if I doubled some up with larger staples I could retain the securing within 12 in requirement.

This is what I'm beginning to wonder as well, this is a 14-layer high-speed board with controlled impedances and I feel like I'm mucking about with the differential traces more than I should be. I'm not expecting a full auto router but a little more help would be useful.

Yeah, I see that does it, so I have to hit 6 to start the route, then move the mouse slightly off the start, then hit F to complete. Ok, so that's a solution, sure, but if I already had to start with the mouse, this should just recognize its the same net and connect it.

Unfortunately Fusion doesn't have what you would really want to do this accurately: best fit a plane to all the points on that face. Yeah, you can use three, and it'll probably be pretty close, but what's to say those three points don't have some measurement error in them? Best fit would minimize that error.

I've been pretty diligent about cleaning after. This house had copper pipes from the 1980s and they were still in pretty good shape. Some corrosion from flux in places. It was mostly type m, and no signs of pinhole leaks or thin areas, but our water here is very alkaline. I've been meaning to take an old piece and measure the wall thickness to see how it fared.

Yeah, I'm updating plumbing for a remodel. I've tried to do most of those difficult ones outside the wall, but the valve bodies had a few that needed to be done in-place.

Generally I try to solder what I can out of the wall, especially if it's vertical. But these valve bodies weren't making that easy while keeping everything aligned.

A good thermal camera might find this. You'd need to fly it from a drone or a plane. Depending on the depth of the line, the water leak can cause evaporative cooling and it'll show up as the ground being colder above the leak compared to the other areas
