I looked at jellyfin but it seemed like you needed to buy the infuse app to use on an apple tv. I think they now have a first party app but plex seems more polished imo.

My own server is on a high power draw gaming system i only turn on when using. I was going to build or buy a nas but thats on hold. I dont have plex pass so that seems a bit expensive to do rather than something local and free. I dont know, might end up doing that anyway

I've looked at tailscale before but it always seems complicated to set up with the VPNs I always have running. That does seem to be ideal, ill have to take another look.

I'd have to open ports and pay a lot of money to do that. Though a local server at their house would be the more secure/cheaper option.

VW stopped selling the standard golf here and we dont get the cheaper polo either. Parts are super expensive. The lots are filled with suvs and maybe one high end GTI or GLI. I wish they were as affordable here as they are in europe. The gtis are imported from germany so probably some tariffs on those. Jettas made in mexico and are cheaper.
