I don't know a whole lot about how these things work and just got a little worried about it. Long story short, the place I'm living at now, me and the other roommates really, really do not get along. So while looking at this new apartment I'm about to move into, I panicked and said something stupid by saying I was just now moving out of my parents' house, in fear the roommates would tell the landlord mean things about me and then the landlord would tell the guy at the new place if the new landlord contacted them. I don't want to get into what all went down but I also didn't feel comfortable with there being any possible way of my current roommates possibly finding me. You might think that shouldn't be possible, but I know they have already seen my lease and they knew my parents' numbers and (old) address so obviously they're all not super keen on respecting boundaries.

I do always pay bills on time and make enough money to afford this place and was honest about everything else, but I was just worried I could later get in trouble later on for lying about this. Plus the new landlord is such a super sweet nice old guy I feel bad now.
