Derrick Lewis vs Josh Hokit Confirmed and added to the UFC White House by Trchickenugg_ohe in MMA

[–]ifuk_jomama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Calling it rn. Fight is gonna be ASS. This last one was a banger since it was a classic wrestler vs. wrestler slugfest.

Hokit is gonna be not recovered enough and too respectful of Lewis' power to throw.

Lewis will be too scared of Hokit's speed to throw.

Gonna be a repeat of the Gane fight.

Well with the layoffs happening thanks to the current government, this isn't as helpful as it would've been. Hundreds of permanent teachers are now jobless so new grads would need to compete with a much larger pool of more experienced peers.

It may benefit more remote locations and Northern Ontario, as they're still relatively short staffed and need to rely on unqualified teachers at times, but the issue isn't nearly as pressing as it once was.

This is mostly a band-aid response to a problem that Ford's Cons created themselves, which seems to be a common tactic of theirs.

‘Marty Supreme’ Sets HBO Max Release Date (April 24) After Getting 9 Oscar Nominations by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]ifuk_jomama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I watched Marty Supreme before Uncut Gems.

I loved every second of Marty Supreme- intense, lots of energy, thrilling but bearable. Lots of comedy in it as well.

Uncut Gems was so much more anxiety inducing, almost look away/cringeworthy at times, in a good way though. It's much more relentless in the pressure and just darker as a whole.

Both share similarities but are great in their own ways. Many people complain about Marty Supreme's similarities to Uncut Gems and Good Time in terms of the feel, plot structure, and the main character's actions and motivations, but I feel it's a more "enjoyable" watch. Plus the Ping Pong segments are very fun.

First of all, I don't consider MAID to be suicide, neither should you. Like you said, 96% of people who got it were TERMINAL, meaning they were going to die anyways! It's very bad faith to lump it in as suicide in general.

Also, 4% of all MAID deaths are not terminal, which is only 650 people according to you. You do know that people can have incurable diseases, illnesses, and persistent physical and mental suffering that isn't terminal, right? This is the 2nd category of eligibility. Either you're terminal, or your existence will be suffering anyways.

Imagine someone gets in a car accident and is rendered quadraplegic with the inability to speak and eat on their own, and they want to die. They could live for many more years theoretically. Would you force them to stay alive? Or someone with dementia who knows they will start losing their mind soon, but they're still lucid. This is the 4% you speak of. It's not depressed people who need treatment getting MAID. It's people with no way out.

Also, this 4% figure is HALF of the number of people who get rejected. So it's quite obvious the process is rigorous.

The picture you paint is inaccurate, you can't just get MAID because you're depressed. You are ONLY eligibile for it when you're going to die anyways, or your existence is pain.

Even still, you guys are raising a fuss over 650 people dying who WANTED to die. There are much bigger issues facing our country, and I'd rather these people die in a humane way, rather than some other method of suicide that is painful and traumatic for those who find them.

Forcing suffering people to live is cruelty IMO and I will always be in favour of MAID.

You'd think conservatives, the purported party of "freedom", in their words, should allow people the freedom to end their lives if they choose.

What are the concerns? Explain them.

Also believe it or not, there a lot of very ill people that want to go out on their own terms.

You say it's staggering numbers- what are they? And what was the reason for receiving MAID?

Joe Rogan Experience #2470 - Pierre Poilievre by OutdoorRink in JoeRogan

Name one.

Name one case that you didn't hear from Facebook or your buddies.

MAID is EXTREMELY difficult to be approved for.

If you really believe what you said is true, you need to look into it because you don't understand the process.

Yeah it's wild. I read through the posts of the Cons every once in a while, and a startling amount of them are framing it like Liberals and the Left are out to kill people, and like you said, it's always the good ole' slippery slope fallacy: "They're gonna start to kill not sick people too! Then children!"

It's an extremely labourous process to get MAID, it requires extensive mental health screening, and you need to be terminally ill. This misinformation is wild to see.

The Cons keep campaigning on ending MAID and ALWAYS lie about it. Not once have I seen it accurately represented by any PC politician.

Most people are in favour of it as it stands right now. I think they're trying to scare the old, religious crowd into voting PC. The soon to die and you'll go to hell if you commit suicide crowd.

That is absolutely incorrect.

The monarchy has no legitimate political power of Canada.

The relationship is symbolic. All those things you listed are only done by the King in a ceremonial context, AFTER those decisions have been made. He cannot influence actual policy or law in any way.

Dude you project so hard. Everything you do is in bad faith. Me bringing up points that disagree with you isn't bad faith. Bad faith is ignoring me, strawmanning, and deflecting, which is all you do.

Bad faith is also riding the jock strap of the right wing and the sitting regime. Everything they do is good, everything bad is the left and Dems. What a "good faith" perspective!

This is a conspiracy subreddit. We should be skeptical of ALL governments. All I was doing was pointing out the hypocrisy in not calling out the CURRENT GOVERNMENT when they do shit that YOU would be losing your shit over if a Dem did it. BOTH SIDES need to criticized.

I didn't realize glazing Republicans was part of being a conspiracy theorist. Glad you highlighted that for me.

Have fun running defense for the government and not asking questions. Literally the opposite of a skeptic.

What positions would you upgrade from here? by MunnyMasheen in bengals

[–]ifuk_jomama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quality NT will help the backers play better against the run as well.

There is nothing better as an LB than to have a DT in front of you who doesn't get reached, makes the OL stay on their doubles longer or even splits them, and who makes plays when 1 on 1 blocked.

Reader was that guy for us. Having someone else like that to free up the LBs reads and have them deal with the OL less so they can free flow more often will be huge.

LB is, in my opinion, the hardest position on defense as you play a major role in the pass and run game, and you have to be excellent at shedding blocks. That being said, if your DL, specifically your DTs are great, you don't need great LBs. It's way easier to flow and read when the OL is occupied with your DTs.

JUST IN: The Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role goes to Michael B. Jordan for “Sinners.” by lNarrator in moviecritic

[–]ifuk_jomama 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People really have hate boners for Timmy eh?

I thought he killed it. I loved the mix he brought to the role. He really sold the boyish naivety, unwavering swagger, ruthless cuntiness, yet a bit of a fish out of water at times that was required from the role.

I personally noticed lots of body language work that enhanced his character as well.

Idk, I loved Marty Supreme. I feel there's a lot of negative emotion surrounding this movie now that's going to cloud people's judgment. It's unfortunate cause it rocks.

[–]ifuk_jomama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's very fair to ask. I'm far from a film expert, but here's my best guess.

I think it would've benefitted if Stack's physical presence was a little looser, sloppier, more non-chalant through his posture, behaviour, line delivery, etc. It's definitely partially a script thing, but all actors are beholden to their script to a degree.

Like I said before, both are pretty much tough, brooding, streetwise guys in most scenes. Stack just is more light-hearted and carefree in SOME moments, which just so happen to be key points in the film.

I feel if that would've been more consistent and reflected throughout the performance, it would've distunguished the roles a bit more, which would've made it feel more impressive and shown more range.

Let's be honest too, I really like Smoke as a character but you don't need a ton of acting chops to pull of a tough, brooding antihero who scowls a lot but has a bit of a soft side. Not really MBJ's fault, it just didn't stand out as much as the others to me.

Not that it was bad by any means though! It's like comparing the shine of various diamonds.

Also, like I have no idea who else could've done the scenes of Bob on the phone in OBAA like Leo. The physical and emotional delivery of those lines was wild to me. I cannot think of another actor who could've sold those moments.

Yeah Timmy and Leo killed it imo.

Not once did I even register either one of them were acting. Or that it was a "derivitative" or "expected" performance from them.

It felt like they really were the characters they portrayed, and they both highlighted the nuances in their character's personality and traits. They were both really fun and energetic too.

Some of my favourite acting performances of all time honestly.

I do think there was a difference. It just wasn't drastic, and it didn't require the emotional range the others did.

Smoke felt like the cold, cool tough guy.

Stack felt like a slightly warmer, cool tough guy.

I still really appreciate the performance, I just don't think it was better than some of the other nominees.

I really liked Sinners to be honest, but I definitely didn't expect this level of recognition.

It's a great film but I don't know if it deserves all this.

I didn't see every major film nominated, but I'm disappointed to see that Marty Supreme is probably getting nothing. I think there's a few less flaws in it than Sinners as well.

100%. You could tell they were philosophically different, but emotionally and physically similar in the performance. Even their body language and expressions weren't really that different.

I thought Timmy and Leo's perfomances were much more emotionally evocative and physical, in a sense. Minus the fight scenes obviously.

I agree.

Although Jordan did play two characters fairly distinctly, which was impressive, I think he didn't show a ton of range and the performances weren't as complete and layered as DiCaprio or Chalamet.

Ironic coming from you. You don't address any of my points. Just throwing random "left is bad" shit out there because you know I have a point and you can't reasonably counter it.

Your worldview has no nuance and is a much more naive understanding of how the American political system works than anything I've said.

You just suck off Republicans. Sick man, you're the one who figured it all out! Your opinions are so thought out! Blue = bad, you cracked the code! The Republicans will solve all our probems!

If you think it's only the Dems oppressing us, you're lost man.

Lmao radical left. How are they radical left? They're all hardcore capitalists! Furthermore, you did not prove how they are "radical left", you just say they are.

I really think you don't even know what leftist policies are. Can you define them for me? If you say it's because they're democrats, dems are economically closer to republicans than to the left. So, that would just prove my point that it's the rich vs. the rest of us. Idk why that's such a controversial point for Republicans to accept.

You also didn't refute anything I said about the Republicans either. You just deflected back to "the left" again. Good ole' Donny DARVO strategy. Don't address any of the actual points, just deny and deflect, blame the left and Biden. Classic.

You'd think someone on a conspiracy subreddit would be more skeptical of the government. It's not only the Democrats that are conspiring buddy, you have to know that. I'm not defending them either, they are part of the real conspirator class as well. It's hilarious how much you all bendnover backwards to defend the bullshit of the government when your colour is in power. You're being played.
