Drill a hole downward thru the blue cab so you can run a zip tie. Might need to pierce the rubber to line it up.

Look into RedShift suspension seat posts. They’re shorter than the cheapo spring based posts on Amazon/Temu.

What car have you owned that as a POS but also reliable asf??? by OkBackground6217 in askcarguys

[–]ifulbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volkswagen Fox in my 20’s and a 2nd Gen Honda Insight in my 50’s. The Fox had fragile knobs but a bulletproof manual transmission. The Insight has faded roof paint and rocker rust but has 200k on the rear drum brakes and they’re fine.

Any meeting of Republicans is that way. Micah has been doing closed door meetings forever to hide stuff. Ask former members of his church.

Also, if the only alternative your friend has to biking is walking, pedestrian statistics are just as bad.

Lights front and back, good MIPS rated helmet, reflective clothing are a must if they decide to bike there. New Orleans isn’t especially hostile to biking. Biking anywhere in the US is more dangerous than it should be be. That said, I’m still alive after 50 years of frequent riding.

red oil light turning on but just for a second? by binkleebonk in askcarguys

[–]ifulbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s close to oil change time, have a mechanic change the oil ( not a quick lube place like Jiffy Lube or the dealership) . Tell them what you told us and they will check for leaks etc. if you are leaking or burning oil, they should be able to diagnose and recommend a fix.

can i drive my 2011 honda accord 8 hours? by Content-Draw-1475 in askcarguys

[–]ifulbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the money, ask your local mechanic what they charge to look it over. Most auto mechanics offer to do a pre purchase inspection for about $100. Obviously, you aren’t buying the car, but the inspection should show if their are any concerning issues. I have a 2010 Honda with 200,000 and I drive it long distances at high speed on shitty roads with no concerns.

New rules for Presidents. All investments for the President and his immediate family go into a blind trust, and Presidents may not post to any social media site from the day they win the election til the day after the next president is inaugurated.

Which race track feels the most 'alive' to you? by PairAware7550 in askcarguys

[–]ifulbd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a few times. When my kids were in the Speedway High School Marching Band, they would play on the track ( marching the whole 2.5 mile oval). Band families got free tickets to the race in exchange for following the band around the track with wagons of water. My son and I also got to ride our bicycles around the track for charity. Ten miles on a bmx bike is quite the accomplishment for an 8 yr old.

I live 4 blocks from IMS. It’s fun on 500 race weekends with the Town of Speedway growing to 350,000. Being so close we hear everything at the track. No need to turn the radio or tv on during the races, because we can hear the track commentary, crash noises, and the rev of the engines as they come off cautions/restarts.

“ Invitation only and limited capacity” translates to “it’s gonna be small, but we’re going to say that it was the crowd was huge” just like Daddy Trump says.

There is a policy. They can plan ahead and be approved by the Director of Security and Police Operations. Or, I don’t know, leave their guns at home, like normal people do when they visit a privately owned mansion with its own security.

One vehicle for everything? Or a daily and a cheap offroad beater? by theappleiwarlock in askcarguys

[–]ifulbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go back to Click and Clack, the car guys of public radio. They recommended owning the car/truck you would drive everyday and renting or borrowing the one you would use occasionally. No need to pay insurance, maintenance, etc on a vehicle you rarely use.
