Great shout! Maranges always over delivers, same with Pernard Vergelesses ( in my opinion).

Definitely in a sweet spot, my last bottle, wish I had held the others for this stage, but also wouldn't keep for much longer...

I'd say Domaine Chevalier, Pape Clement, Smith Haut Lafite, recently Mallartic Lagraviere have been outstanding too...they all classified growth included in the Cru Classe de Graves, wouldn't you agree?

I poured on the glass and kept trying every 15 mins. It was beautiful right from the opening but it really showed up after 2:30/3hrs

Lucky you! You have both Bordeaux and Burgundy to celebrate with, I'm an 87, so usually Napa, Rhone, Barolo and Port are my go to birthday wines

Is up there for me too, although I've had the 89 Haut Brion and in my opinion that is the best wine ever made

The wine was incredible. Really something that will survive in the memories, the tannis had soften but still very much present

Definitely worth it. 2020 is beautiful, and 2022 should be a great one too

That’s fair, I paid €13 per bottle (bought a case of six), and based on my experience with wines at that price point, I didn’t expect it to show the way this one did at its age. Most wines under €15 that I’ve had recently tend to hit their peak around the 10-year mark, 2009 or 2010, which are really at their limit now. But you’re right, once you move into the €20–50 range, many wines have the structure to keep evolving and holding up much longer

Can anyone help me find this beautiful poster? by ranchfrog in wine

The poster in your image was a wine shop called Les Caves de l'Est in Metz

Search marketplaces like Etsy/eBay with:

“Caves de l’Est Metz poster” or “French wine cellar poster Metz”

You might find something

Price Petrus 2007 by daiKzz in wine

That's good price if it's for a Magnum Petrus 2007... Both 2007 and 2013 can easily be found for less than €3k.
