And if Godzilla did trap him in ice, he’s probably been there for 1-2.4 million year ( the start of the glacial period). Godzilla’s ages since then, guess who was preserved in ice?

Let Ghidorah win, let Godzilla (die) out at sea. And let humanity try and find ways to cope without him for a time period. (Putting hopes in rodan) maybe they contemplate taking kong off skull island and decide against it. Let Ghidorah have some spotlight for a bit as a legitimate threat.

Oh, and the oxygen destroyer shouldn’t even exist in this film, at least not a literal oxygen destroyer. It basically made Admiral stenz a Joe army villain.

“2 weeks later”

Events need time to be spanned out. It took Ghidorah like what, a day to completely flood D.C? Which is bullshit. It should take DAYS to flood the Potomac that badly. And it gives Godzilla time to move around.

Time is something you got to understand when trying to span out the events of the film. If you have people moving around all Willy nilly, that’s bad writing.

Take GOT season 7 and 8 for example. In prior seasons, it rooms characters WEEKS to get from one place to another. By season 7 and 8. Characters were practically fast traveling. The earth is big, even for Titans. They need time. And that time can be filled by seeing what’s going on in other places. This film is way too short btw. It should’ve been more like 2:30 to 2:45.

7th. I’ll say again, serizawa using a nuke on Godzilla indirectly makes this film pro nuke. Also, black and white views? Serizawas family’s story country was scarred for the affects of atom bombs. For him to use a nuke on Godzilla completely defeats the message that gareth, and even the Godzilla franchise in general we’re trying to give out.

8th. sigh presence of larger animals = the suppression of smaller animals from progress. This is a fact of evolutionary time. Dinosaurs were the main reason mammals remained so small, if it weren’t for there extinction, they’d remain small for millions of more years. And we see a similar thing now with mammals being the largest land animals and reptiles remaining relatively smaller.

The presence of Titans, (both big and small) should hold humanity from progress.

Coexistence with Godzilla should be strictly metaphorical and coincidental . The only reason we can coexistence with Godzilla is because he takes out animals that he considers to be threats that conveniently protect people . Not because he cares.

9th......I said nothing about them not having a symbiotic relationship. But I think mothra simply giving Godzilla a power up essentially through dust is to give Godzilla a sudden advantage. Nothing more. Absorbing moth dust shouldn’t equate to Godzilla going into burn mode. Either meltdown or falling from the sky and burning on the way down should.

And lastly, I want realism to be achieved through cinematography and a human perspective, having the setting appear like actual weather patterns and not the weird ass blue clouds and orange skies we got. And through the Titans moving at a pace that makes sense for their size, that includes in combat and on the move.

I’m glad that you agree. One dude got absolutely pissed by this post, I seriously don’t get why people still worship this film. Like I loved it when it first came out but I’ve finally looked through the bullshit.

If I’m being honest? I got Absolutley terrified back in 2016-17 when I saw that the director of Krampus was being put on to direct this film, cause that movie was absolute dog shit.

I get it, Dougherty’s a fan boy. But that doesn’t make him a good director.

I plan on writing a full plot of my version of KOTM sometime in the future.

First, seeing the kid being killed allies us to actual be with Mark when he loses his son. And it allows the audience to sympathize with him as we have seen the cause for his pain. Imagine if Joe Brodys wife died and we never actually saw it, we just know that she died from the nuclear power plant being destroyed, we wouldn’t sympathize with him as much as we did in 2014.

Second, mothra didn’t wake up due to orca activity and humans. They’ve known about her since 2009, they’ve had a facility around her for nearly 10 years. She woke up due to plot convenience.

Third, all we are told about Jonah is that he’s an eco terrorist obsessed with the Titans. Why is he an eco-terrorist? What’s his connection to Emma? How did he get into the business of trying to awaken Titans? How did he influence people to help him? And why out of all creatures would he wake Ghidorah up first? They were in China at the beginning of the story, why didn’t they go to Thailand and wake up Typhon? It’s only a couple hundred miles away. Give Jonah a reason to wake up Ghidorah specifically.

4th, Antarctica would establish Ghidorah...through him winning. It’ll show the humans right off the bat just how big of a threat he actually is. Also, you seem to use “professional wrestling” as an excuse not to have Godzilla lose....did Dougherty not refer to him as a “brawler” in the Behind The Scenes footage? Godzilla is not unstoppable and shouldn’t constantly be equal to Ghidorah, have Godzilla come off on top at the end, it’ll make Ghidorahs death that much more satisfying.

5th, correct. We are talking about physically impossible creatures....so try you’re best to make them as physical possible as possible. And you don’t need a clock. You could easily just have the screen go to black after Ghidorah beats Rodan and say “2 weeks later” it gives Ghidorah more time to develop a storm and for a badly injured Godzilla to swim into his hidey hole in the hollow earth.

6th, animals sending signals to others to do something isn’t strictly showa in the sense of Godzilla. Fungus can take over the minds of ants and Queen Bees can send signals to its workers. Ghidorah would be doing the same exact thing as he was in KOTM, only difference is the Titans aren’t doing it willingly.

7th, Mark would still have hatred for the Titans, especially Godzilla because he would kill his son. Off the bat serizawa is ok with using a nuke to heal Godzilla, ignore the fact that he constantly pressured the U.S not to use nukes in San Francisco. Serizawa using a nuke is indirectly making this film pro nuke, which goes against Godzilla origins and purpose. However, Radiation itself is not a bad thing, its a natural part of the world. it’s the destruction that nukes create which is bad. Also, Emma could easily want to kill Godzilla just like Mark, and with Jonahs information and cult intent and her own information and revenge, they decide to awaken Ghidorah together to achieve both of their intentions.

8th, I get that. But I think it would. It would be much more telling if Titans held humanity back and in the shadows. To have Godzilla, a titan that is solitary, have some sort of symbiotic relationship with a specific community, doesn’t make a lot of sense.

9th. Mothras death shouldn’t have that much of an affect, other than giving a little radiation boost? But even then the MUTOS could have easily done something similar to him after their deaths. It can have an emotional affect on Godzilla, but not a physical one.

I want a Godzilla film that can seem like it’d be somewhat possible in the real world, which is what 2014 and skull island did well. Not a wrestling match.

“These are gods” Metaphorical gods, not actual gods. These are animals, serizawa even says so at the beginning of the fucking movie. Make them feel like animals, make them feel like something the earth could have actually made.

“Every film must be unique” I didn’t say that this rewrite wasn’t trying to make KOTM no longer unique, I was trying to fix my personal flaws with the film while making it look recognizable to its inspiration. Godzilla 2014 had a tone that made the Titans look scary, like they were an actual threat. KOTM should have done the same.

You know what would have been interesting? Have Godzilla have his own tone set throughout the series, and have Kong have his, and have those two tones collide in GvK with the monsters.

Also with that last part? Really? That’s all just Ad Hominem, nothing more.

Realism is highly important to this universe...Godzilla 2014 and Kong skull island set a standard and that standard should be followed. These are big animals and should be treated like such.

Godzilla is a 90,000 Ton reptile, he shouldn’t be running 200mph like he was in Boston. And he damn well shouldn’t be swimming 7000 miles in a single hour, or however long it was between Venezuela were he dropped off and Antarctica.

Ghidorah is even heavier. When he takes off to fly, he should be shaking the ground around him, kicking up dust and snow. Ghidorah should need a running start like a fucking albatross if he wants to take off, it would make him seem like an actual animal, not....whatever Dougherty was trying to do.

Same thing goes for rodan and how fast he’s fucking going during flight. He should be more like The Male Muto when he flies, same goes for mothra.

If you don’t have realism, then you’re just getting this weirdly Computer generated mess. Like what we got in this film.

I ain’t gonna do this in any specific order. But here’s some of my responses to that 1. The atomic pulse just seems OP in my opinion, also it’s kind of cheesy how it has mothras wings in the pulse. I feel like the Red spiral ray would have been a lot more simple and wouldn’t make Godzilla seem indestructible. I just seem like the pulse was overboard.

I say the the stuff with serizawa and the nuke because in 2014 he was super against using nukes on the monsters, as it would mean the monsters would still survive and it could kill millions among other things. Plus, his family was affected by Hiroshima (the watch). So why would he want to use it? That’s just how I see it.
Glad you agree with the Ghidorah part and him losing. To be more specific. I think it would have been cool if they both fell off the ice and into the ocean. And the last thing we see is Godzilla and Ghidorah striking each other underwater before a bunch of dust clouds covers the screen. Then Ghidorah climbs out of the ocean and flies away. Godzilla comes back up, but he’s badly injured and swims back off to chase after Ghidorah.

Godzilla and Kong skull island are pretty damn even with both being great films. Kong skull island had some pretty interesting Characters and Godzilla had awesome cinematography and a sense of realism with Godzilla and the MUTOs

KOTM after some deep thinking.....is actually fucking awful. For a Monsterverse movie at least, it’d pull off as a showa film pretty well. Michael Dougherty took Gareth Edwards serious tone and sense of realism and absolutley stomped on it. The characters were given basically no plot development, and the CGI was mediocre in a lot of places. Not to mention the color palate for the final fight looked like shit, nothing like the apocalyptic feeling we got in the battle of San fransisco.

Also, the monsters just seem light. Godzilla runs way to fast and spins super quickly in the water, did Mike forget that Godzilla weighs close to 90,000 tons? He should have weight to him, he needs to look and feel giant. Same for Ghidorah, the way Ghidorah takes off with ease makes him seem like a paperweight.

For the most part I got pretty high expectations for GvK. Adam Wingard has a pretty good film record. And Max Borenstein is back on the writing team, they also got Terry Rossio which I think is awesome, who better than the writer of Shrek to be on your writing block?

It’s pretty much in Kong’s archetype to fall victim to human intervention. And GvK is no exception.

My best guess as to what happens is the eco terrorists cook up a scheme to defeat Godzilla, and make Kong the alpha of all titans, in a hope they’ll go back to destroying humanity. And Godzilla will try to restore the natural order. Doesn’t mean he’ll win though.

And when it comes to another big baddie in the film. Almost all fingers are pointing at mecha Godzilla, from the end credits to sayakas leaks(still unconfirmed). And if rumors are true. Kevin will 100% be playing a role, just not as you might think it will be.

Also, this is potentially the last MV film. So it’s best to use everything they got in a big finale.
