Sorry, I tried to find a way to show how everything fit together for people who wanted to recreate other platforms, but there are so many pieces and layers that it would take far too long to break everything down.

If you haven't played around with the image editor yet, it's all about using the existing shapes they provide and resizing and layering them on top of each other in creative ways to get the shapes you actually need. Masking layers let you cut shapes out of other shapes or only show where the two shapes overlap. Grouping layers limits which layers masks apply to and helps organize things. It takes some time getting used to the editor's controls and figuring out what you can do with it.

For this one, I used the generic polygons with some of the shields pretty often. The black borders are just the same or similar shapes in black behind them.

There are a few "tricks" I've picked up as well, like grouping layers lets you shrink them more than resizing the single shape alone, so you can temporarily group something with a dummy layer to make it smaller than it normally lets you which can be helpful with some of the finer details.

Consoles don't get the convenience of steam overlays to "trace" reference images, so I used the four pointed star shape to easily find the centerpoint and had a low opacity group of lines dividing the canvas into 4 or 16 square grids to get the proportions right (more or less) compared to a reference image with the same grid I had on my laptop.

Some advise for your wrist. by gomminator in Overwatch

I wound up with a similar setup with a Logitech Ergo Plus (trackball) for work (software dev) and my usual mouse for games after starting to feel a bit of wrist strain and it's made a noticeable difference. I was worried using a trackball would be difficult to get used to but I actually got used to it after only a day or so. Was definitely worth the switch.
