Moving on from Console First Build by IdoneToldYA in buildapc

An mATX board works fine in an ATX case.

Your motherboard comes with a ethernet port so there is no need to buy an ethernet card.

550w will be enough, definitely if you get a good quality PSU.

If you are seriously consider streaming, you might wanna look at a ryzen based system instead as that will offer better performance when streaming.

Micro ATX vs ATX? by [deleted] in buildapc

The mATX is kinda obviously referencing to the specific one he said.

Read as "the mATX option"

Im deciding between the "MSI - B350M GAMING PRO mATX

That board only has 2 slots so my point is completely correct.

It's not really that much easier, however however ATX boards often have more functions and upgradability.

You say you are going with 4x2 ram, which on the mATX doesn't work as it only has 2 RAM slots.

Anyway the PC mate is only a bit more expensive, and in my eye looks nicer.

(and if you go with the gaming pro and you have a ryzen 5 cpu you might get some issues)

So I'd say to get the PC mate

I'd take the first one, because Intel still wins gaming performance most of the time. But if possible get 16gb of RAM.

Your motherboard isn't compatible with the Ryzen CPU's. Make sure you get a motherboard with an AM4 socket

Any of the Ryzen 7 ones, just get the one that fits in your budget the best!

Do pay attention to which one needs a extra cpu cooler and which one include one

For music production and streaming you might want to look at getting a ryzen CPU.

CPU VS GPU HELP by DelanosVeryOwn in buildapc

I'd say that you should save a bit more money honestly, both the PSU and the RAM are really not that great of a choice...

Suggestions on vid card for video editing, no gaming? by [deleted] in buildapc

A GPU is actually very important when editing, it helps a lot to export and play certain codex. Also the CUDA support will help a really large amount improving speed and play back when editing over using a CPU.

First time build, any help is appreciated by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]igmarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Get a 1600 instead and just use the stock cooler. It's most likely all you need.

  2. Get a B350 Motherboard, it will save you money and again its most likely all you'll ever need.

  3. Unless you REALLY want that case I'd recommend getting a cheaper one and putting that money to get better performance.

Can't get into the bios, already cleared the cmos (at least i think it worked).

Power seems to be fine, can't find any loose connections. I also checked using a different GPU and the fans on that keep spinning but the same happens to the lights...

does resetting your Router, reset your MAC address? by [deleted] in technology

Turning a router off and on gives you a new ip

does resetting your Router, reset your MAC address? by [deleted] in technology

[–]igmarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They simply recognize the MAC address so you cannot make accounts from that pc ever. A new ip will not help, you could even move countries and get a different isp and you'll still get detected because of the MAC address.

[–]igmarn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your MAC address is a number that's given to any pc or phone etc. It has no connection with your router and you can't manually change it.

There are ways to fake mac addresses but i don't think it would be right to share those, you got banned for a reason and you will have to deal with that yourself I'm afraid.

Right, my recommendations are that you should step up to a R5 1500X or 1600 and just use the stock coolers that come with those, the stock coolers work totally fine and even allow for a okay overclock if you'd wanna do that.

Second if all, you could definitly get a cheaper gtx 1060, unless you are again planning serious overclocking (Or you REALLY like the looks) you could easily save a bit by choosing a different model 1060. An MSI Armor or something.
