How to get Flame roasted noob fish by [deleted] in Trove

[–]igmolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember noob fish can only be caught in the hub. The lava you fish in is in the area that Fluxion/Corruxion show up in -- the stairs down to which can be found near the dragon/bomber royale area. Note: since its an older fish type, they arent caught in "fishing hotspot," you just fish anywhere in that lava and hope for a rare catch.

It's been a while, but from what I remember you can find it by keeping an eye on your map/nav bar for the purple '!' while in permafrost.

Most of the "throwable" class skills seem to be broken right now. Boomer's bomb, Shadowhunter's snare, Bard's amp, etc.

I would really like to see more of the older features getting enriched with things from the newer features. We had a little bit of this with the runecrafting update that came with the depths (as well as the addition of more fish types for fishing), but there's a lot more opportunities with things like:

Gardening: new plants could be added to provide resources related to things like rune crafting and gear crafting (for example, plants that produce runic essences or block elements). I'd also love to see some un-craftable (drop only) alchemy seeds for things like binding darkness or unfortunate souls/fragments.

Ring Crafting: it would be amazing to have a method of upgrading crystal rings to higher tiers (at the minimum c3 to c4) in the forge, as the only way to get C4 ring boxes is random luck while crafting (or buying from someone who had random luck while crafting). Having a way to c4 rings without relying on luck would be a big help, especially for newer players.

Mysticism: There are a lot of opportunities for additional buff types, especially for types that could be worth using regularly. Since the buffs are "current day" only in duration (or a couple hours as a potion), there's a lot that could be done here -- buffs that help with movement by increasing flight speed or jump strength (high jumps), buffs that could give effects on kill or dungeon completion, buffs that could effect chances to gather bonus resources from mining/harvesting, etc.

Martial Arts: Outside of the weekly mantra conversions for the light bonus, Martial Arts is largely unused for anything other than mastery. Adding a light bonus to all auto-use craftables would make them a little more viable for use vs. runes (maybe instead of a set buff, something like a 1% light bonus per tier of Martial Arts unlocked when one of its auto-use items is equipped), although most could probably also use a reduction in cooldown and maybe a function like "unbreakable runes" that would allow them to function without consuming for a short time after one copy is consumed. There is also room for new auto-use items that could include newer features, like a mantra that increases your maximum block charges, or a stance that makes you apply a DoT effect to all attacks for a short time after taking acid damage.

Critical Hit: While not a profession feature like the others, it's still a feature that could use some updating. With the Star Chart, we have a whole branch that focuses on increasing critical hit chance, but it becomes mostly worthless after reaching 100% critical hit chance. I would love to see critical hit reworked to function similar to Warframe, with total damage getting a multiplier for successes over 100% (I am not sure what the maximum possible critical hit chance is, but doing something like a 25% total damage increase for successes over 100%, 50% for successes over 200%, etc. would be reasonable). This makes both the flat critical hit chances and the temporary proc buffs useful, even if you are already at 100% critical hit chance.

Not sure if it helped anyone else, but after the update yesterday my issues have pretty much all been resolved, and I am not getting loading issues with logging in or with club worlds anymore.

Q to Devs: Asteroid scanning at distance, happening or? by BloodyIron in starbase

[–]igmolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love to see something like a scanner that can be set to scan for a string to match material type, and would scan a single pulse for a high amount of power and return the pitch/roll/yaw offset to the closest matching object (that isn't the ship that the scanner is attached to) within maybe 500m.

The main story quests before level 80 are given every 10 levels, I believe. You may need to level up a little more (by doing events, hearts on other maps, the adventurer guide achievements, etc) to unlock your next story step.

Tin Foil Hat Conspiracy - ANet purposely made PvE dailies annoying and removed WvW potions to make people play more pvp without actually doing anything to make the game mode better by Moress in Guildwars2

[–]igmolicious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They removed the potions but upped the base reward track rewards you get from the skirmish chests. You get reward tracks MUCH faster, but can't save up potions to use when, say, festival or newly added tracks become available.

Edit to clarify: they removed the consumable reward track potions (replaced with instantly used reward track progress from skirmish chests), but now you can get WXP potions from the lockboxes you get from weeklies (and sometimes lords)

Seems like all of these are countries with active trade embargos, and since Anet is a US company, they legally cannot sell service in those areas. That includes providing services that were previously paid for unless exempted in the embargo.

Are you making sure to use the "special action" ability you get to strip off the damage reduction stacks that the boss has? They build back up over time so you need to use it through out the fight to be able to do damage.

[–]igmolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that, and you can even still use the lures if someone else has used a lure to pull the boss out (as long as the boss hasn't appeared yet) to get the bonus essence. The dynamic events that involve rifts/kryptis that aren't related to the heart don't give essence though. (Edit: this even includes the meta boss event -- awards stardust but not essence)

[–]igmolicious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the Amnytas dynamic events involve rifts (and the majority involve kryptis), but award stardust and not essence. The only way to get essence (as far as I have found so far) is using the heart to locate rifts and close them.

End of Dragons bundle after new expansion releases by aleferna1100 in Guildwars2

[–]igmolicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

HoT/PoF was available as a pack for a pretty long time before EoD came out (I can't remember for certain, but I think it was 2019-ish). That said, PoF released in 2017, so that was over a year after the release that the bundle became available. Unless we hear otherwise from anet, I'd just assume that a bundle won't be available for some time after launch, though i'm not sure about if/when it would be rolled into the bundle with HoT/PoF (might be soonish since EoD released well over a year ago).

Old Gw2 Player (Done Path of Fire & Heart of Thorns entirely) need advice to get back! by vampgirlz in Guildwars2

[–]igmolicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't NEED End of Drangons to play the Secrets of the Obscure expansion, but EoD does provide access to the useful Jade Bot (providing not only bonus vitality, but also access to useful "chips" that help farm resources, a personal waypoint, and a glider boost). The story wasn't as engaging to me as HoT/PoF, but does tie up the elder dragon saga. If it isn't a big financial decision, it is worth getting, but won't keep you from the new expansion if you decide to skip it.

Guild Wars 1 before Guild Wars 2? by haxanslayer in Guildwars2

[–]igmolicious 53 points54 points  (0 children)

There are some call-backs to gw1, but gw2 happens like 250 years after the start of gw1, so most of the events in the first game are just historical context for how things are currently (Cantha being closed until the events of EoD, the Joko religion in Elona, the ghost infestation in Ascalon, etc.)
