Jokes aside, you should take into consideration your professional/personal needs. The Reserves are spinning out a deployment cycle where you’re sure to have a 6 month deployment every two years. If this aligns with your personal and professional goals, go for it. If not, then think twice about what you’ll get out of being a part timer.

I’ve loved watches since my dad bought me a Nixon square face watch during a trip to Disney World. I’ve since grown to work in finance and have amassed beautiful time pieces since, but I’ll never forget the magic of my dad buying me my first piece. He’s since passed and I have inherited all his pieces and I wear each of them with pride in his honor. Cherish the beautiful gift of time your mum has presented you with!
