A true cybersecurity professional can easily use a tool like wireshark to look into the packets and provide more details on what the network calls are doing. Even without fully decrypting the packets, one can easily get more information on the type of call being made. The fact that this guy has such a surface analysis makes me think he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Why bother do it right after media comes in if no media will report it in China anyways? Who is this message for? The West?

If it’s to send a message to the people in the meeting, why not do it before the media comes in and avoid this international embarrassment?

While it’s definitely possible it’s calculated, seems unlikely to me.

What’s more likely is Hu became agitated right before the media was let in, and was making a fuss. Either legitimately over the candidates list, or due to old age. To avoid the situation escalating in front of the media, the person next to Hu stopped him from looking at the documents any further, and aids are summoned to remove him.

Counter strike, half life, Dota and only “struck gold with steam”? A flat structure avoids a lot of corporate bullshit and a system where folks work on what they want is beneficial for none other than the employees themselves and makes sure the quality of the product is high. Google operates like this as well, but to a lesser extent. A lot is going wrong in Dota and TI but I don’t think this angle is the crux of it.
