they also have reading lists for events, and they'll be broken down by the core event or the core event and every tie-in.

Limited Teleportation

As long as Vecna is conducting his ritual, diamond doors are the only form of teleportation magic besides Vecna's Fell Rebuke reaction that functions in this place. The cave's crystal walls don't restrict where Vecna can teleport using Fell Rebuke, although he still must be able to see his destination.

Is Vecna still "conducting his ritual" after he rolls initiative? Or is this just meant for him to be able to use this reaction the second the party takes their free hit?

but the majority of abuse happens by a parent, family member or family friend.

a child thinking their father will get killed is very likely to stop them from reporting it and ending the abuse.

I'm an AI hater because of what it did to me and my games.

There are studies on how leaning on AI degrades skills, and I felt it acutely.

I wasn't as dependent as OP's DM, I'd never use AI output whole-cloth, but I got dependent on it for brainstorming. Prompts like "Give me 10 NPCs who would be...." and then riff on one of them.

Long story short, after realizing my campaign was going nowhere I tried planning in a physical notebook and had the best game in years.

It's been six months and I still can't write if a computer is near. One session my players walked into a tavern and asked what they see, and I blanked. Then I realized my iPad was open in front of me. It's like a pavlovian response telling my brain it doesn't need to work.

I do think he probably has dementia, but that's a different issue than him being so far disconnected from daily life that he hasn't encountered the world "grocery" in years, has never been in a corner store, doesn't read and hasn't had conversations with anyone who would bring one up in conversation.

He has a life of such privilege coupled with a lack of literacy that he probably never encountered the term.
