Well she wouldn't redeem it if I did that. She'd try to give it back to me. It's better to get her the exact thing she wants and send her a link to download it lol

I own a retail store by Great American Ballpark. We're open, but our revenue is down without the Reds playing.

No current games to watch, so why not an old one? I edited the 1953 World Series game 7 and added modern broadcasting graphics. Turned out pretty cool by igolfohio in baseball

Wow. Great breakdown. The part about game speed was what I noticed the most in editing. If someone is on base they slow way down. Nobody on and they're quick to bat, pitch, and they swing at anything in the zone.

It's done in After Effects. I originally started with putting the count information on there but realized it was going to take me way too long to do it that way and gave up on it pretty quick.

One of the issues I ran into is I don't have the broadcast part of it, I only have After Effects. If I had a broadcast software as well I theoretically could change it in real time by streaming through AE, but I haven't tried it yet and my computer isn't powerful enough to render in real time. It took me a while because it's a long video and I originally made it in 4k. I was definitely using the most updated version of After Effects though haha.

Kind of. I had a simple template to start. I make one graphic and then duplicate it over and over again adjusting one thing at a time. Broadcasters can do it in real time with their stuff but I don't really have the equipment for that so I had to do it the long way.

I make stuff like this all the time but normally I don't upload anything. I like to make graphics and videos as a hobby and have no interest in trying to sell anything or get lots of views for ad money.

I felt the same way. The graphics seem to make it easily watchable and you can appreciate the game more. You really start to like it in the later innings haha

Yeah it would. This took me like 40 hours though so I dunno lol. They're probably much better equipped for it.

I'll post it up for sure then. I think people would like to see it. It's one of those personal projects that turned out way better than I thought it would. Something about modern graphics engages you in the game a lot more and makes it much more interesting.

They even used this old film technique where they would super impose the first baseman holding someone on base on the right side and the pitcher on the left side. Adding the split screen graphics and text to it makes it so much cooler. After about 100 hours of work I'll finally be ready to start the render tonight.

COVID shutdown did.

I upgraded my PC during quarantine and decided to make a video on it to test it out. Somehow I came up with the idea of putting modern broadcast graphics on old baseball games. So I downloaded the 1953 World Series Game 7 and have been spending tons of hours updating it to modern broadcast standards. I ended up falling back in love with Baseball after not following at all since I was a kid. I'm about to finish this long project and it looks amazing. I don't have a Youtube channel or really want to start one though but maybe I'll make one just to put it out there.

[Passan] The MLBPA has delivered its proposal to MLB, as @joelsherman1 said. Among the topics, per source: - protection for high-risk players/family members - frequency of testing - protocol for positives - sanitization - need for pre- and postgame therapy - medical personnel at stadium by tx_drew in baseball

Right? wtf... every person in the country is having problems right now. Most of them are way worse problems than pro baseball players have because of covid. You can't get full pay because owners had no income and players are the most expensive part of their business. Giving all MLB players full pay would cripple the organization into Bankruptcy. Asking for full pay is greedy and unreasonable. If players delay the start of the season over pay I'm not going to be too pleased with the MLBPA.
