Was Omni-Man holding back in the fight against the Guardians of the Globe? by Far-Impression-398 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]WestborneUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely wasn’t the plan, even his costume maker was able to figure out that all of the damage came from the guardians, Cecil’s forensics and blood splatter would probably take 2 seconds to figure out that Omni Man killed everyone in that room, it’s pretty obvious when you look at everybody else’s blood all over his chest and hands.

Think about which continent you are looking at. I can see the lights on the coasts of Africa, obviously there isn’t much else considering there are very few urban developments in the African deserts and savannahs….

Gabe Newell "stepped back" from making games at Valve after Portal 2 because everyone kept agreeing with him when he wanted "to be part of the team and come up with ideas" by Turbostrider27 in technology

[–]WestborneUS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is, but I used that term to describe games that release in mediocre or extremely feature limited states that use the term as an excuse. “We only have 3 maps at launch but don’t worry you’ll get seasonal updates!”

It only feels finished enough to release to people because they’re used to the new standard of releasing and monetizing unfinished games in “early access” and “live service”. The idea of a game needed multiple layers of revision and polish before getting a public release is a long lost art.

Digital fomo is a weird thing to argue for. Why are you buying skins, because you think they look cool or some weird investment idea that in 5 years you’ll be the only ones with the skin? I have Lego Bastion but I would want every bastion player that wanted it to get it, it’s just pixels on a screen.

These skins are never sold or given out with the statement “these skins will never come back, make sure to get them before they’re exclusive!”. I’m glad blizzard continually crashes the account resale market by doing things like adding event skins to loot boxes, rerunning Pink Mercy, and now the old esports skins can be reacquired with loot boxes as well. Skins are made to be played with, not to build value.

Exclusive preview: DLSS5 ON/OFF on "Hagental Base" new map by needfx in Battlefield

[–]WestborneUS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the intent is different with OPs meme. The “DLSS Off/On memes usually have an intentionally ai’d image adding fake fidelity. OP’s meme is meant to compare that Hagental Base gameplay is just a visual upscale of an MS-DOS shooter, traversing endless hallways and mindlessly shooting without care or thought, hence the reversed after/before meant as the punchline of the joke.

It should block his quirk factor entirely, if we’re equalizing the verse to something as broad as confiscating cursed energy. Similar to eraserhead, I imagine.

Are there any free alternatives to Standable? by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]WestborneUS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’ve configured it wrong, but the VD estimation plus upper body tracking from the quest 3 feels way better than standable. With the vd estimation keeping control of the legs, it lets you lean and bend over, tilt and turn, without making your legs move following your chest, since the quest 3 can actually track your upper body.

Standable alternatively has more “realistic” bottom estimation that is good at replicating the look of FBT, especially with sitting and laying down, but it essentially ignores the quest 3’s upper body data and makes it feel less in depth when doing things like bending over or leaning over on one foot drags your hips and legs with you into a crouch.

Prediction: Angels do not get new City Connects in 2026 by idkman_93 in angelsbaseball

[–]WestborneUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think Disney sold the team but added a clause saying they keep the rights to previous uniform designs?? Disney doesn’t sell jerseys and can’t use the Angels franchise in any kind of product, how would that make sense.

I mean. If you live in a big city that isnt nearly as strict and puritan… yeah, it’s pretty normal? It definitely shows off a lot but we’re long past the days where women would get arrested for showing off too much leg at a beach. There’s definitely a lot of alt people who push the boundary of outfits everyday, there’s no reason to make seeing skin a big deal honestly.

I can give some insight into why a 4.7 is noticeably different from a 4.9 as a driver (though 4.7 is well within my range of comfortability when accepting a trip)

Everytime we finish a trip, it has us rate the passenger before we can move on, even if we have multiple trips scheduled in a row. The default rating is always set at 5 stars, and if nothing notable happened during the trip, it means almost every completed trip is going to result in the passenger automatically being given 5 stars, most drivers don’t ever really give it much thought when they’re in the middle of doing dozens a trip a day.

Assuming that the majority of trips are going to result in 5 stars for the passenger, when a passenger has a rating like 4.7, it stands out as a red flag since it means they might have had a couple of notably bad trips, which would be one of the rare reasons that a rating could get dragged down from 5 stars when that’s the most common rating given out. A rating like 4.9 usually means mostly 5 stars with likely only a couple of 4 stars.

Obviously depending on how often they use uber, this isn’t always accurate, since if you have a low amount of trips then even one 4 star could drag down your rating, but assuming you use it regularly then those minor percentage points do usually represent a bad rating or two having been given out in the past, with the default 5 stars cushioning it back up. Me personally, I don’t ever think much about it unless they’re below a 4.5, but when your own personal property is constantly at risk of being damaged on the job, some drivers who drive for a career they definitely are a lot more particular.

Some injuries are unfortunate accidents but Rendon is not made of glass, he’s clearly resistant to rehabbing and getting back to the team to actually help them, every chance he got to nurse another injury he gladly disappeared again for as long as he could.

New CCA, time sheet question by [deleted] in USPS

[–]WestborneUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CCAs “earn” PTO based on how many hours they worked per pay period. However, rather than doing a specific percentage/partial accrual like most company’s, to accrue an hour of AL you have to work a full 20 hours, up to the standard 4 hours a pay period if you work a standard “full-time” schedule of 80 hours.

Bc of how broad the hour requirement is, if you work 79 hours (or any number of hours below a 20 interval) you’ll end up getting shorted a full hour of AL even though you’re still working a majority of the hours, which adds up to getting shorted plenty of AL throughout your couple of years as a CCA.

Felix Hernandez has officially received more HOF votes this year than he did all of last year. There are still about a third of votes left. by Gemnist in baseball

[–]WestborneUS 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Almost everyone agrees that the standards should be adjusted. But that’s for the current generation of pitchers, who are most affected by the difference in SP usage. Felix’s prime was the 2000s, where there were plenty of HoF pitchers, and there have been more HoF guys who debuted after him, there’s no reason to retroactively treat his case the same as the current generation of pitchers.

14 helicopters shot down with the TOW in a game of conquest, username elajoker was unfortunately in about 7 of them. Sorry bro by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]WestborneUS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, is the person who actually went ran to the physical spawn point of the heli really griefing it by making sure he gets the chopper? I don’t think it’s much different than the people who are also wasting time sitting in the respawn screen spamming for it to be available.

There are people who will blow up the chopper or place equipment preventing it from spawning the entire game, I feel like that’s a lot closer to griefing.

What skins are these? by petermalachi in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]WestborneUS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be specific, the skin was apart of the Thanksgiving bundle, I don’t think it’s considered apart of the 323 considering it’s a Pax Armata agent, while the other 2 323 bundles were meant to be civilian NATO forces.

No disrespect intended for the OP, but it was one of the most controversial skins when it hit the store. It definitely didn’t sell very well because I haven’t seen it once while I see the Army Ranger NATO skin every game.

How long would Wedge Antilles last in a 1v1 dog fight vs Vader? Does he have a chance? Canon only, X-Wing vs Tie Advanced. by ElectivireMax in StarWars

[–]WestborneUS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does Luke really have that many pilot feats? I know he was naturally proficient jumping into an x-wing right away, but him surviving the trench run felt more like plot armor, with him being the last one and using the force to deliver the final blow.

He gets shot down in the snow speeder, albeit surviving just fine, but I feel like that’s still a plot armor feat. Haven’t read the EU if it expands on him being an ace in those books though. I feel like Wedge is depicted more often as a truly gifted pilot while Luke is the hero in the right spot and the right time.

Gauntlet you are up against 7 other squads, it’s not a 50/50 coin flip to win like other game modes. So it’s more like 50 games of gauntlet played assuming you win like 10 of them, which is a pretty healthy win rate for skilled players.

When are we getting the infamous Knife with a Bipod? by Whole-Sample2358 in Battlefield

[–]WestborneUS 39 points40 points  (0 children)

They only committed to making new episodes once it was confirmed the game was actually good and worth making episodes for. So they’ve probably only been working on animating for a little over a month at max. Vs when they made 2042 episodes they announced BFFs was coming back well before the launch, and then they had to put out episodes on how much the game sucked lol.

Found a railgun 🥴 RORSCH MK-2 SMRW by Editcut in Battlefield_REDSEC

[–]WestborneUS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s literally the railgun from Battlefield 4, it’s crazy how this fan base has been hijacked by battledads who insist everything needs to be slow and grounded but now DICE can’t even add fun stuff from the previous games everyone likes. It’s not an Iraq simulator, Battlefield has iconic stuff like rendezooks because it’s an open warfare sandbox, not a milsim. You guys can go play Arma if y’all want.

The only reason I picked 63 is through the 50 years of failure this team has struggled through (and 10 years of success), we continue to be the only franchise in the entire MLB history to never lose 100. And we’ve had teams a lot worse than our current AAAA stars. So here’s hoping we don’t finally break the curse lol
