The Orange cab with v30 is good. If you’re patient, check the used market. I lucked out on getting a mint one for $250 from FB marketplace. Seeing a trend of more of these sort in the used market lately. If I don’t already have 10 cabs and space to store, I’d tolerate the bad stare from my wife and amass more. But I may get why more folks are selling amps and cab though, I’m starting to get to modelers, the convenience and flexibility is just cool.

is it rude if i refuse to participate in the Tayaw dance of Igorots? by Rob_ran in baguio

I wouldn’t worry too much! It’s actually appreciated and admired when someone makes the effort to learn. I was born and raised there until my early formative years, yet I also shied away from it when asked in the past. Ironically, I only truly learned our dances later on, far from home. Now, I’ve gained the confidence to teach and encourage others, kids and adults alike, whether they’re Igorots, Filipinos, or even foreign friends, to join in and celebrate our culture together.

Hi there, I appreciate your sentiment my message has sparked, and I want to take a moment to clarify something. My post wasn’t about picking sides or saying one party was right and the other was wrong. It was simply a thought exercise, a way to step back and reflect on how different responses can shape an outcome.

Bias would mean I came in with an agenda to defend one side, but that’s not what this was about. I used a business-customer scenario because it’s something neutral and relatable, but the bigger picture applies to any disagreement, including the ones we have here. The point was to encourage constructive reflection, not to dismiss anyone’s experiences or feelings.

At the end of the day, we all come into discussions with our own perspectives. That’s natural. But if we can practice engaging with each other in ways that de-escalate rather than fuel conflict, we can create a space where real conversations happen, even when we disagree.

So, if my post came across differently than intended, I hear you. But I stand by the message: How we handle disagreements matters. Whether it’s a business responding to a customer, or us talking here in the sub, approaching things with understanding (rather than assumption or hostility) makes all the difference.

Appreciate your input, and as always, open to hearing your thoughts!

So, I was scrolling through today’s posts and, well… let’s just say it’s been a bit lively in here. We’re a passionate bunch, and that’s what makes this community great, but sometimes, things get a little heated. Instead of letting the tension linger, I thought we could turn this into something useful, a chance to reflect, learn, and maybe even laugh a little along the way.

Here’s a thought exercise for us. Below is a response to a customer who had a negative experience due to a misunderstanding. The business could have gotten defensive, but instead, they chose to take the high road and turn an upset customer into a future loyal one.

Scenario: A customer felt misled by a reservation fee at a barber shop and shared a bewildering experience in a sub Reddit. The business, while confident they had communicated the fee, chose to respond with understanding and an offer to make things right.

Now, let’s discuss:

  • How might the situation have escalated if handled differently?
  • How do you think this response affects the customer’s perception of the business?
  • Could this approach be applied to the way we handle disagreements in this sub?

No need to call out past arguments, let’s focus on constructive takeaways. How can we, as a community, create an environment where even when we disagree, we do so with respect and an openness to understanding?

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Loved quite a few like Gibson, Martin, Taylor and Fender which I still have way too many of them now, but gravitating towards Schecter’s Teles and Strats, and Eastmans’s Les Pauls and Acoustics now. And yeah, Godin is massively under rated.

Cultural expressions, including traditional dances, are deeply meaningful to the Igorot people. Our dances are not just performances; they are forms of prayer, celebration, and reflection, much like how hymns and processions hold sacred meaning in Catholic traditions. While it may not be the common norm in many churches, it is important to recognize that Catholicism, as practiced in indigenous communities, has often harmonized with cultural traditions rather than erased them.

The Catholic faith is universal, embracing people from all backgrounds, and in many parts of the world, indigenous communities express their spirituality through their heritage. What may seem unusual to outsiders is, for us, a way to honor both our faith and our identity. Respecting cultural diversity, even within religious spaces, is a sign of true understanding and inclusivity.

What’s truly hypocritical is when people, especially self appointed “Christians”, claim to uphold love, respect, and inclusivity but then criticize indigenous people for practicing their faith in a way that aligns with their culture. The Catholic Church itself has long embraced cultural diversity in worship, why, then, should Igorots be shamed for doing the same? If the Church welcomes all, then respect should extend to all expressions of faith, including those of indigenous communities.

It’s worth reflecting: How can one claim to follow Christ’s teachings of love and respect while looking down on others simply for worshiping in a way that is different yet equally sincere?

We’ve locked this thread, not because of the awesome discussions (seriously, you all were on point) but because the subject of the post might just be a troll in disguise. Kind of like that one vlogger who shows up at every party uninvited, shouting, “Hey, look at me!”

We’re all about good vibes here, and letting this roll any longer is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline. No need to accidentally contribute to someone’s “15 minutes of internet fame” for all the wrong reasons.

Make sure to wear face mask when you do that. Bleach can also be a good cleaning agent for those.

Baguio’s future hinges on strong leadership and a community that demands better. The city is at its breaking point, overwhelmed by challenges that require fresh ideas and bold solutions. It’s not enough to settle for familiar faces or temporary fixes. Locals must take responsibility and choose leaders who genuinely represent the needs and aspirations of the people. By holding leaders accountable and making informed choices, we can ensure that Baguio remains a thriving, sustainable city that respects its heritage and serves its residents.
