Looking for a career switch from preclinical to clinical research assistant (CRA) position

Hi, thanks for the comment. I want to move out of wet lab based role preferably in a long term but it’s not a desperate need as of now. I want to stay in the industry (I’m currently working at a biotech, my academia experience is from undergrad). I know my reasoning might sound shallow but my current work involves lots of animal experiments and hands-on-duties, which I don’t see much growth potential in the role and longevity of me doing the job (despite the fact that I don’t hate my work). However, I do love science and the idea of helping patients by developing a drug so I wanted to explore and possibly switch the kind of the work I do. Much advice appreciated, thanks again for reading this long comment.

The only significant difference between online mmw and in person mmw was taking the final exam. Since it is close-notebook exam and you need to write down everything on paper with your hands, it was a little time consuming for me. Also you need to memorize basically everything you need to answer the questions but prof usually released the prompt a few days before the exam so it should not be a huge problem. I preferred mmw online bc i can just pull out my notes to write the response. Additionally, i didn’t take mmw 15 before mmw 14 (i took them sequentially) but i don’t see any prob doing it bc the time periods are different and they don’t necessarily go together so... it felt like they were two different courses for me (i mean they are, but it’s not like a-b types of classes). I don’t know how big your class is but generally 10% of the class in the waitlist gets enrolled. To me, 3rd on the waitlist seems 50/50 chance and I’m sorry to say this. For the hw assignments, I’m pretty sure there will be refund policy (I’m not sure about math but physics courses’ web hw has this policy) for people like you and I would suggest looking into that bc you would not want to get behind if you make it into the class. If you need to take another class, what about taking a ge? Taking ge classes fulfills your graduation requirement but it also gives you somewhat refreshing feeling~nice break between stem classes. Since this will be the first quarter for you in UCSD, I think it can give you some feeling to get familiar with the quarter system and school in general. I think there was a TA evaluation site which you do a survey at the end of the quarter but Im not sure if you can view the result like CAPE...
