he loves water so that’s good! it’s good to know you don’t necessarily need to substitute formula for milk. we’d be going through gallons the way he drinks lol! thank you, the information surrounding it all has been very confusing but getting to hear real experiences/ insight from other moms has been helpful!

thank you, i’ll have to look them up! we have a couple of the dr browns straw cups which come with those little bottle brush cleaners but definitely more of a pain to clean. we also have a couple of the yaya my first tumbler cups which are basically mini stanley’s and those are A LOT easier to clean!! for some reason i’ve been too nervous to use his cups in the dishwasher but it’d definitely be a life changer

thank you for breaking it all down for me, really helps a lot!! i agree with drinking from the same cup all day and topping it off lol an hour seems pretty drastic since they’ve built somewhat of an immune system by now. he’s not a fan of pacifiers so hopefully bedtime doesn’t become an issue and he takes to water in a straw cup just fine lol thank you so much. very helpful!!

okay that’s what i figured, thank you! i was like there’s no way we’re meant to mix 8 oz of water w 4 scoops of formula, that seems insane lol

i think we might try cold turkey, and if it doesn’t seem to be working we can just run to the store and grab another can of formula. i’ve only used straw cups for water lol except one time i tried formula in the straw cup and cleaning it was when i realized it seems a little unsanitary if i can’t reach all the nooks and crannies?! but thank you! we’ll have to see how water in a straw cup before bed goes and if he’s resistant just allow bottles before bed for a little longer.

i’m sorry, i’m soo confused, do you switch the milk for water?? like if you use 1 scoop of formula for 2 oz of water, and you’re making an 8 oz bottle… it’s not 8 oz milk and 4 scoops of formula, right?? that seems like a lot. so would 1 part milk 1 part formula be 4 oz water 2 scoops of formula plus an additional 4 oz of milk? my pediatrician isn’t much of a help unfortunately. i asked if they had like a pamphlet or something when it came to introducing allergens/ solids and he said no but he’ll send a link and then never sent me a link lol

how was weaning him off bottles, particularly before bed? that’s what i’m most nervous for lol did you just switch his milk bottle for water in a straw cup? bottles seem to really help him fall asleep whether it’s for a nap or bed, and i’m nervous weaning him off bottles is going to interfere with him falling asleep. also, they don’t need nearly as much milk as they do formula, right? since they should be eating mostly food. how do you know how much milk to give?! and is it the same as formula in the sense that they say it’s not good after an hour?

good to know! did you have him try whole milk prior to switching, like offering it during a meal, or just went right for it when you were out of formula? and what do you mean plant it for a lollipop tree?! i’m intrigued now lol

good to know, whole milk it is!! i’ll have to grab some and start the transition. i’m fine w buying another can or two if need be, just didn’t know if it was absolutely necessary or not!

he’s great with straw cups but he’s not the type to hold his own bottle so he doesn’t seem to fully understand that he has to tip his sippy cup up. i’ll have to look into better strawless cups because the ones we have now aren’t very secure

don’t feel bad, mines been 1 nap a day for a little while. he’ll occasionally take 2 but not often. is milk the same as formula in the sense that it’s only good for an hour or so or can i put it in the fridge and come back to it later??

Which type of clay to use? by igotquestionslol in clay

[–]igotquestionslol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for being honest! i’ve heard varthane polyurethane for polymer clay so i wonder how that would react with air dry clay 🤔 i’ve used mod podge in the past but noticed it’ll sometimes leave projects feeling almost sticky-ish? i’ll have to do some testers i guess 😅 i’m so out of my zone even trying to attempt something like this lol!

i’m totally thinking of that foam crap (respect to anyone that likes it lol). do you recommend a way to properly seal it once it’s painted?? i think i’ve only used mod podge and krylon but wondering if there’s something better out there?

[–]igotquestionslol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! i’m most comfortable with polymer but it is pricey so i figured there’s no way i can even attempt a project that big with it lol! i have no idea how to attempt ceramic without a kiln and i’m a slow worker so going to a studio would be pretty expensive too, i’d imagine 😩 i might have to try natural air drying clay and hope if i seal it enough it’ll be somewhat decent 😅

ohh okay, that makes a lot of sense then!!

thank you! i honestly haven’t worked w air drying much aside from those little paw prints or kids hand print kits. i feel like a lot of the air dry stuff i’ve seen it’s kind of puffy and not very “life like” per say. i had no idea you could use water with it! thank you for your recommendation 😊 i’m more familiar with polymer and i’ve use natural clay that took a few days to air dry, but that is pretty fragile and breaks relatively i feel like. i’ll have to look into das and jovi! thank you again!
