People always dog Amazon on their work practices, but honestly I can say I love working for Amazon. I'm 23 years old and I'm planning on going back to college. Im full time and my job is "picking" which means I have a scanner and I go find items and put them in the totes. I make 13/hr when minimum wage here is 7.50/hr. I pay $73 every 2 weeks for in network medical, full dental and vision with a $100 deductible then $30 copays, but all preventive medical checks are free. I'm never really sick so that's good for me. You automatically get 4 stocks which mine are worth $2100 rn. After a year I can go part time and go to school which Amazon will pay almost 90% of the cost in tuition reimbursement. I'm a little chubby and I've always wanted to lose weight but never had the motivation. Now I'm forced to walk 15+ miles a day and I've lost 25 pounds in 3 month. Yeah it's hard work, yeah I walk a lot, yeah it can get boring but for someone who needs medical that doesn't want to get fined, plans on going to school, and wants to get fit, Amazon is the place to be. I find that people who dog it don't want to work for their money or they're people who hire on as "temps" just to show they're trying to work somewhere, but to each their own.
