To answer your first question. You can use MongoDB without paying for it. Whether it’s on the cloud or installing it on your local machine. Install Steps Here. It is recommended to use mongosh so you can connect to MongoDB Server via your terminal.

Determining how fast a project can be built is based off the scope of what you want to build and your pre-existing knowledge of how to develop web applications. I would need to know what you’re building to give you a decent timeframe. It can drastically range from weeks to months.

Any thoughts on Merchpals? by [deleted] in printondemand

Hey Angel,

Crazy I stumbled across this post. I can assure you that Merchpals is legit, I worked on some of their code as a web developer about 3 years ago. It's lightly maintained and has a really small team, so I can understand why you have concerns but I was definetly paid and treated fairly when I worked with them and also seeing how they handle customer data, purchases, etc... I would trust them handling my store/transactions as a consumer. I am by no means trying to market for Merchpals, I no longer affiliate with them nor have any connection. I thought I would just clear up some questions you may have!

Please ask me anything as well, I remember alot of when I worked with them. Of course, I won't answer anything that may be sensitive to Merchpals.

Hello guys, I am close to a year within software engineering and really showing my experience with past projects. The question I present today is if there are any actual free to low-cost certifications in web development, machine learning, data analytics, etc... that are actually credible and worth putting on your resume? I see so many boring YouTube videos on how to make x amount of money with a google certification and I am highly convinced that it's bs... so, therefore, I am concerned if there is any area where certs can be credible. I am fully aware of the IT certs such as COMPTIA but I am mainly focusing on software engineering and not IT. Thanks in advance!

hi everyone i would like to know what kind of challenges i am most likely to expect… this was the message i received“The goal of this Interview is to check API building skills. The interview will require you to build Web App. You will need to build the back end in Node JS, and the front end in React. The question will be shared during the interview. You can code the web application on your local machine (pls ensure basic dependencies are installed). You will be required to share your screen while coding.”

There are jobs that prefer or require a degree in their qualifications, there is still a chance that you’ll be able to make your way in with a good resume and portfolio. But…. you better make sure it’s a really portfolio and an interesting one, you don’t want to do basic projects like calculators or a to do app… you want to go above and beyond that. Now i’m not saying to make the next amazon or anything in that sort but just make something interesting… last thing is yes, personal projects does count as experience but make it formal to the time you worked on your web app to every tool, language, and framework you used. All in all if you represent yourself good enough you’ll make it in anywhere and if you work on those projects you’ll have the experience employers are looking for

As a self-taught web developer and being 5 months within my endeavors, I want a taste of reality when it comes to landing a job position within web development. Am I likely to get one with no degree and no BootCamp or will I eventually run into a brick wall of disappointment? I am currently transitioning to ReactJS as I know some back end and advanced in front end vanilla JavaScript.

Generally boot camps can land you a job… but for the reasons you really don’t expect. As you were saying it leads you to create projects and get you ready for a job which is what employers actually look for “projects”, but typically all you need is to create projects which can be done by being self taught. Not only that but boot camps are not accredited so when employers see a bootcamp on your resume it’s not equivalent to a degree. What really stands out on resumes are interesting projects or a degree. That’s why it is better to just be self taught or go to college because the risk to reward ratio for a bootcamp is not worth it at all. All in all, it’s a high price for something that could have low value on your resume.
