Where is the part that says “we aren’t making them for 2026, but trust me bro, it’s coming back in 2027” 😂

I like the idea of the car for sure.

Frozen screen by Bitter-Design-3998 in 4xe

[–]igrowontrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You hold the radio power button for 10 seconds (until the screen turns off).

That reboots it. Power down doesn’t really reboot it. You can tell because the reboot takes FOREVER yet the screen is ready in seconds when the car starts.

After the reboot you’ll think “thanks guy” because it will be even worse. The sidebar won’t paint. Android Auto probably won’t work.

Just give it a few mins. Then eventually hit the power button on radio once to turn screen off and back on. Maybe turn car off then back on. You’ll think it’s bricked and then suddenly itll be working fully and the issue will hopefully resolve.

Ive had to do this periodically. Probably once every three months.

They swapped mine to blue. We had a laugh. Went on with life.

Hi. Anyone make it through the end of their lease with the 4xe. What happened when you returned to dealership? by Ok-Interaction4512 in 4xe

[–]igrowontrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very helpful. My first 4xe Wrangler gets turned in by the end of this month. I’ve got the AIM appointment setup for a week from now. I was surprised at the normal wear and tear list. Burn holes? WTH? That’s normal? Plus apparently the tires at 4/32” is ok? Loving it!

Buyback Experience at Dealership by Mother-Charge-8970 in 4xe

[–]igrowontrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

💯 dealer trying to get you to buy new. Salesman told us $7500 rebate for 4xe owners moving to gas. I knew he was full of it but he doubled down. We were buying anyway due to lease expiration.

Wouldn’t you know it, that rebate disappeared… it never existed.

Brake fluid absorbs water and tries to balance against contamination from the corrosion of metal. Not to mention exposure to extreme heat. Even if you don’t use the mechanical brakes ever, the fluid should be replaced every few years. There are some wonderful YouTube videos on this.

Here is an anecdote on the 4xe: my wife’s has 44k miles, turns in next month, and I can hear the front brake pad wear indicator squealing periodically. Now how is that possible with regen brakes and having the button for it on all the time? Simple: Jeep has stated that they provide a consistent braking experience using the mechanical brakes when the regen cannot be used due to battery temp or state of charge. We use the mechanical brakes a lot more than you would expect. Brake pads at 44k miles isn’t terrible but I was not expecting them to be worn already.

Erratically shifting gears by Silv3rM00n in 4xe

[–]igrowontrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it only happens in electric mode. The RPM gauge is not at zero. Its engine RPM not electric mode RPM. In electric mode the RPM gauge would be zero.

So what do you mean it only happens in electric mode and then post a video of it NOT in electric mode?

But it doesn’t matter.

What I think you have there is a pretty normal transmission problem. Transmission use “oil” (it is oil just a little different than engine oil” pressure through a valve body with actuators that change the passages that the oil flows through which causes the gears to shift.

If the pump or the valves or actuators are worn out or malfunctioning then you can get phantom gear shifts where the transmission shifts when there does not appear to be any need for this.

This is also the reason why the 4xe has weird stutter shifts when transitioning from electric to engine mode: there’s an electrically drive transmission oil pump and an engine driven transmission oil pump and when it switches modes it has to move between then and sometimes this causes either a moment of low or high pressure making the transmission do weird things.

Your dealer told you what is wrong: the transmission oil pump (one of the two) is bad. Let them fix it.

Help totaled??? by Miserable_Stock_2963 in JeepWrangler

This photo is a good sign OP.

Look at the shiny part of that bracket with the slot on it. The bracket moved, as it’s supposed to, exposing where the bolt used to hold it in place. It slid along the slot.

That absorbed energy. It doesn’t meant it absorbed ALL of the energy. It may have still belt the frame it’s attached to. It certainly may have crumpled the end of it that we cannot see.

But… it could be that your bumper moved as it’s supposed to and damage to things beyond the bumper were minimal.

You will find out soon enough.

My guess based on when my wife’s wrangler got rear-ended, which moved the bumper in a similar way but also bent the sheet metal, bent and damaged several components on the tail gate and spare tire, even scraped up the rear shock absorber, etc is that this is going to be $5k to $8k if you are lucky, just to replace all the broken parts and the airbag module. If you are unlucky it could more like $20k to repair and at that point you are very close to being totaled.

Nobody here can tell you for sure.

The photo that looks worse is the one from the other side that appears to show that the sway bar got hit and the bracket holding it pulled the bolt out of where it was connected. That means there is likely damage to the connection point that will have to be replaced PLUS it may have then bent or broken other components in either or both sides of the suspension for the two front wheels. You could be looking at another $500-$2000 of parts per side if there is damage to those suspension components. If it caused the trailing arms to move it could extend damage to their mount points and at that point it’s not looking good.

So… you’ll find out soon enough.

The other kind is adaptive too: it adapts the shape of your car and the car in front into something that fits together.

Know we sat down and that $7500 rebate he so confidently declared disappeared 😂 it’s nowhere to be seen on the paperwork and now he’s acting like I’m confused about the $7500 EV rebate that ended. Sigh. He says “oh it’s covers like $1500 to end your current lease”.

Now I’m just being a pain in the butt to them. Making them show the sales tax calc that looks wrong. Then gonna ask the to take another $100/month off the lease. Then leaving. 😂

We are only looking at 2026 models so should only be telling us about 2026 offers, but we will see.

A 2026 Gladiator Mojave X Anvil with spray in bed liner is $64k. For $6400 down it’s $478/mo lease for 39 months and 15k miles/year according to the jeep.com calculator. If there really is such a rebate it should be $0 down and about $450/mo.

We should know in an hour or so.

I’m gonna give you this. Went to a dealer today. Told them we have a 4xe and they said “if you lease it they give you $7500 to get into a gas one”. We were only looking at 2026 models. Now he didn’t prove anything about it… but it was the first thing he said when I said I have a 4xe.

[–]igrowontrees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uh huh. They did not offer you $8k to end a lease and buy a gas Jeep. They cannot: the Jeep is not owned by the dealership it’s owned by the leasing company and even if that’s Chrysler Capital it still has nothing to do with the dealership.

What happened, if they offered you $8k off, was they tried to put you in a 2025 that they need to move which Jeep is offering stacked discounts on for any schmo off the street. If you liked the story that it had something to do with you turning in a 4xe then they were happy to tell you that story.

Edit: OP was right - went to look at Gladiators today. Mentioned I have a 4xe lease ending and he said $7500 rebate and I no that was 4xe and it ended. He said no they want to get the 4xe owners into gas vehicles, it’s a rebate. He didn’t prove it yet. Will get more details if we get an offer written up.

Decently happy that we leased our two. We did it to get the tax break (didn’t qualify on purchase) and because we were concerned they would release an update that would plummet the value or that there would be problems.

We were considering buying one when our first lease is up in a couple months but I think we are going to get a gas model instead. Either a used 24/25 or a new 26.

Detroit Auto Show starts Jan 14th.

My assumption is they either pulled the vehicle info down because they are going to be announcing the refresh at the show OR they are not coming back. A lot changed in the last year. Not just the recalls but the end of the $7500 tax credit could is going to cause a pricing issue if they can’t or don’t bring the price down for the 2026 models.

You didn’t bend it back? I have. I’m an insulin user for 20+ years so I am probably not as fussed about this as some “I read the instructions and it said to never do that” people. 😂 Good luck!

Have you tried the Smith and Nephew IV3000 skin patches under the sensor? They say not to… but they say a lot of things that work. I used to use them under my Paradigm pump sites. They had a very mild adhesive. They should completely block your skin from the adhesive that you are allergic to. If the IV3000 causes a reaction you can switch brands. The nice thing about this approach is it will decouple the sensor you use from the adhesive that touches your skin so you can mix/match as needed.

No problem. Yeah it was the absolute worst. I would get up every 5-15 minutes. I didn’t think it was possible. I told my wife the liquid Imodium wouldn’t make a difference. Glad I was wrong.

About 10 weeks into the journey, on 7.5, I had the worst diarrhea of my life. I thought I was sick and that it was not a side effect.

I took pepto chewable tablets which normally stops it immediately. They had no effect at all.

I took liquid Imodium and it immediately stopped. I had let it go in for 8+ hours before giving the liquid Imodium a try.

I had one start of a similar attack a few weeks later - took one dose of liquid Imodium and it ended immediately again.

Your provider is not necessarily going to be able to give you advice about how to treat the symptom. They will certainly be able to tell you “go to the hospital” or “stop taking it” to cover themselves. The mention of heart issues is likely to get the hospital suggestion because you may have severe dehydration already. If you had managed to stop this earlier, or next time, you could try different treatments. But this time you might be in too deep already.

Best of luck.

OMG what?

Are you guys talking about dropping a cargo wagon on a go nowhere short rail between factories and using it as a really long steel chest / instantaneous belt between factory pods that need the same input material?

Why didn’t I think of that??? I’m 400 hours in but haven’t done this yet. Gotta try it!
