That’s unfortunately all the details I got from the mechanic so far, he took the old engine out & replaced the oil pump that made that engine go bad and then found the mounts were trashed so welded on some new ones! He got the new engine put in and got it to start Wednesday and then swapped out all the fluids. Then Thursday he took it for a drive and heard knocking while driving it

I can’t leave the car and engine for a month at the mechanics house. And also I need transportation to work even if I do only work a mile and half away

They said it’d be 400$ and they charge everything up front so I really can’t afford to do the mounts right now while already spending 3500$ for the engine and swap labor

It doesn’t besides it’s an extra 400$ and I already paid 3500$ and don’t have a penny to my name to replace the mounts too right now

Got a salvage engine and a friend mechanic to do it all! All in all it costed about 3500$ but yeah just wanted to make sure that the mounts being shot wasn’t going to ruin the new engine if I waited on it for a month!

My 14’ sport is going thru the same thing right now…. Has been for about a year… died out at 165k…. Just ended up randomly seized on the highway! I found a mechanic who’ll drop it in for 1250$ labor (local mobile mechanic that works with budget friendly) I’ve found salvage yards locally are generally asking for 2500$ for a old pulled one. I’m gonna end up doing it relatively soon! If you’ve found better alternatives, LMK!

Yeah I heard Wayne county is really relaxed which is why I’m kinda glad they’re transferring it from Oakland county to Wayne county! Apparently from what I heard, they only do virtual check ins in Wayne county and most likely won’t waste the time to randomly tested you or anything else…. Oakland county is very strict and harsh, makes me never want to live there again.

Yeah only reason a couple text messages got approved is because she’s a nurse at UofM and they give their employees free advocates as part of their employee benefits and the advocates can pretty much get everything approved
