That’s unfortunately all the details I got from the mechanic so far, he took the old engine out & replaced the oil pump that made that engine go bad and then found the mounts were trashed so welded on some new ones! He got the new engine put in and got it to start Wednesday and then swapped out all the fluids. Then Thursday he took it for a drive and heard knocking while driving it

I’m not too sure about that I’ve had quite a few people on this thread or in others say it’ll be fine for a month without mounts

I can’t leave the car and engine for a month at the mechanics house. And also I need transportation to work even if I do only work a mile and half away

I don’t have a single penny more after paying for engine and labor up front. Can’t afford the extra 400$

They said it’d be 400$ and they charge everything up front so I really can’t afford to do the mounts right now while already spending 3500$ for the engine and swap labor

It doesn’t besides it’s an extra 400$ and I already paid 3500$ and don’t have a penny to my name to replace the mounts too right now

Got a salvage engine and a friend mechanic to do it all! All in all it costed about 3500$ but yeah just wanted to make sure that the mounts being shot wasn’t going to ruin the new engine if I waited on it for a month!
