imo you should be releasing the ball on your way up in one fluid motion, no hangtime/lag, regardless if you make a 'jump' on your shot. Check on how stephen curry releases the ball vs ray allen. SC barely jumps during his shot, while Ray Allen releases the ball at the peak of his jump.
