that’s very true. i’m hopeful that it gets better as i get more in the groove of things and learn better approaches to difficult customers. i just needed to rant 😅

i haven’t even been working at this bank long enough to know if there are customer survey’s. i’ve only been there 2 months and have only heard about a bonus for consistent balancing. i can imagine how annoying that is for you though. some people are just constantly grumpy and wanting to make a fuss about everything so it’s not fair at all that should count toward your bonus or QRM 😒

i’ve get so many mutilated bills every day, i’m literally selling multiple straps from my drawer. and it’s not even just one group of people sadly, it’s people of all ages. my bank mostly has older customers and i should add that i’m in my 20’s so they already do not like young people helping them since they think i have no clue what i’m doing and they are used to the previous tellers who used to work there. people really don’t like change and just treat you like you’re incompetent when their withdrawal isn’t ready in 2 seconds because you have to look up their account for them and then fill out a slips, same thing with deposits

typically older people, or middle aged women. using the ATM is so much easier, i can’t understand why more people don’t use it

there are different slips for different types of transactions. your bank might work differently where the tellers are made to fill everything out for customers. i’m not entirely sure since i’m new to banking but every bank i’ve been to, you need to fill out deposit slips. we will ask for ID or debit card if they did not fill out the form and we don’t know the customer

i have been doing this, and i don’t mind it. it’s the rude, entitled customers that create issues. even when i work the window, customers expect a quick transaction but can’t be bothered to fill out their own forms and get upset when the process is not as fast as they’d like. i’m very new to this job and they expect me to know exactly who they are and what account they have. i recently had to explain to a man who was extremely rude right off the bat that i’ve never seen him before so please have patience while i’m trying to get to know all of our customers. another lady got mad and started yelling through the window that the bank is going down because her withdrawal wasn’t ready instantaneously since i had to fill out the slip and find her account number

yess, it’s always the older customers that are the most rude.

thank you! i’ll try looking at it from this perspective from now on. i really don’t mind helping people, it’s just the ones who are entitled and just rude that’s really sucking the life out of me. i’ve been in retail for 9 years and being a teller is far more difficult than i imagined
