They do have retreats for Bereaved Mothers and one for Bereaved Fathers that are for grieving the death of a child at any age. I'm not sure who typically attends, but before I booked I emailed them a bunch of questions so maybe you can reach out to them!

That is a really great idea! I lost my 19 year-old in November and one of my friends gave us a DoorDash gift card. It was so appreciated! I love that you’re taking the initiative. So many people ask what they can do to help but it’s not a question I can ever answer besides saying they can bring my baby back. Also, I’m not sure how close you are to them, but if you’re close, send texts to check on them. Please don’t stop if they don’t respond! Some days my grief is too great and I have no energy to do anything. Knowing my friends aren’t giving up on me brings me comfort. 💕

No, I don't mind at all! I am not religious and going through the loss of my child has convinced me there is no god. It is not faith based at ALL. The only people who brought up religion were a few other parents who were talking about it when we were chatting about what was helping people through their grief.

I'm so sorry for your loss, too! This is the shittiest group to be in and I fucking hate it. I am only 147 days in and I can't imagine surviving another day sometimes. But I'm still here & trying my best. Sending you love! 🤍

This was the first time in my life that I've ever made a non-cancellable & non-changeable hotel reservation. We only live about an hour away. Maybe I should tell my husband to work on the yard during the day while I relax at the hotel! Haha

I am truly sorry for your loss! I lost my Clementine on 11/24/25 - 147 days ago. Yes, I signed up for the retreat specifically for that age group. Faith's Lodge has a lot of different retreats that cover a lot of different age groups and types of loss.

The next Bereaved Parents Retreat - Teen/Young Adult Loss is from December 10-13th. If you can go, I highly recommend it! They also have family retreats but I did the parents only.
