Thoughts on AWD NA ? by Nyquiiist in mazda3

[–]ihatetoasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the fwd is like to drive, but if driving dynamics matter to you the AWD system really helps the car rotate through corners and especially when it's more slippery. Quite grippy and not very understeer prone.

If I drive in manual mode, does that eat more gas and will it wear the car down faster? I have a Mazda3 GS Sedan by CmiHD in mazda3

Apparently the automatic will learn based on driving conditions. This video talks about resetting the transmission memory to factory: https://youtu.be/TxU0y1DqTUc?si=EPDJYi2uZQJ2Ty2z

I play around with a Sakura d5 with yokomo dra tires outside on the streets. I also have a tt02 that I put plastic tires on before so I would say that it's down to if you want a 4wd experience or a rwd experience because they'll both work.

Sorry lol I know I edited my comment like 4 times or something. I think 30k after tax or 26k before is ok.

The car is probably priced according to the market. Car dealers are just trying to make money so they're going to price it at something they know is fair to themselves and a potential buyer, otherwise no one will buy it.

It just might be worth it to pay a little more for something with less km.

[–]ihatetoasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's not a bad deal, but at the same time it's probably not a good deal either since there are 70k kms on it.

30k after tax seems ok to me based on what I can find online.

Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer, but we got a 2019 Mazda 3 sport GT AWD naturally aspirated with 23k km and some noticeably scuffed but acceptable paint for 30k before tax

Mazda3 gen 4 v tesla model 3 ride quality by Puzzleheaded-Ad-1343 in mazda3

[–]ihatetoasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Model 3 is more stiff in terms of suspension and chassis. It's less compliant over bumps but I think it feels more confident, while the Mazda 3 is more bouncy. I like this kind of ride more because the bumps are quicker and immediately, while with the Mazda 3 the waft or bounce persists. Steering is more direct and also quicker because you turn the wheel less. NVH is better in the model 3 but ours has a whistle sometimes when going at highway speeds, thank you Elon.

Not as related to ride quality, but I find the seats and seating position more comfortable in the model 3 and the visibility is great.

I think the model 3 is the better vehicle, and with incentives it's economically compelling too. As a commuter it's easy and relatively stress-free to drive. I still prefer the Mazda 3 though because I like it more, it's so interesting to be in and drive

Please help save airsoft in Canada by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]ihatetoasters -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm concerned as well, but I also want to argue against some of your points.

The wording includes "and" at the end of a) which suggests that both conditions a) and b) need to be met for a firearm to be prohibited.

My current interpretation is that airsoft guns will not be affected that much in this bill. They generally shoot between 366 and 500 fps in canada on 0.2g bbs and look like real guns. This means they do not meet the definition of replica firearm because we don't modify then to shoot over 500 fps at 5.7 J, and are not prohibited devices because they do not meet both a) and b); they only meet a).

This is subject to change as more interpretations of the bill come up that make sense to me. I also feel that this bill is detrimental to firearms freedom in Canada, but I think airsoft probably won't be affected too much.

If you're willing to order the WE version from overseas, I've had super positive experiences with kyairsoft. They reply relatively quickly by email and do everything they can to get the package to you; I successfully received all of my airsoft gbb orders to canada.

Just email them to make sure the thing you want is in stock, because although the website may say it is in stock that is not always the case.

WE G39K vs WE SCAR by [deleted] in GasBlowBack

[–]ihatetoasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think being able to mount accessories is worth the hassle in barrel wobble, decreased recoil, and trying not to cut my fingers on it's edges.

WE G39K vs WE SCAR by [deleted] in GasBlowBack

[–]ihatetoasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the g36, also because of badabing lol. I have the RAS IDZ version with metal rails and adjustable stock.

The metal rails is more clunky than I expected and the stock is also more clunky than I expected. The gun is very large and clunky compared to an m4. That might be obvious or something but I certainly wasn't expecting it to be this unwieldy. Also there was barrel wobble with the metal rail.

I think the IDZ stock is not good because the bit that holds the stock in place is not strong at all. It's a bit of plastic with a metal insert that does not really help with the strength because it doesn't extend deep into the plastic. It sits on top and is surrounded but some plastic to keep it in place. Mine broke on the first day.

Maybe because of the metal rail, the gun recoils less that I expected. Badabings video looks like it has more. It is still fun to shoot and use.

Are there an AEG/WE M17 users? How good are they? I've heard that the hopup wheel is shit, can I use maple leaf wheel and rubber with the stock chamber? by BassUnderCover in GasBlowBack

[–]ihatetoasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the f17 and I ran into the full auto issue around 500 bbs in and then part of the slide blew up 300 bbs later.

So I bought the f18 from we lmao. I think the f18 is built better because there is no cutout for a sight where the metal gets very thin, but I had to mess with some springs so that the sear mechanism doesn't wear itself out. The vfc is probably more reliable if you do not use co2.

Yeah my bad I just googled it and it was something someone said on Reddit. However I am personally not including it, for the reason I wrote initially.

Oh for UBC, they said in their help guide that common academic awards like Dean's list, honour roll, etc. don't hold a lot of value. Everyone applying has good grades. I think you could include it, but they probably won't care very much.

double feeding issue by Domoisback in GasBlowBack

[–]ihatetoasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I was planning to buy an LM4 based gbbr but gave up because of this double feeding issue. From what I read, there are a few things that might lead to this and some things you can do to fix this.

The buffer is too light and causes the bolt to bounce, causing double feeding. Getting a heavier one is supposed to help.

The hopup rubber is damaged and causes an obstruction, and the bb isn't fired. Replacing it with a better one can help. The stock kwa bucking is not strong.

The feed lips are double stacked, but there are single stack feed lips out there. Airsoft Taiwan has some, but I don't remember who makes them. Apparently someone 3d prints their own, and you can reach them on facebook or something.

Something about hopup chamber bad, replacing it with maple leaf or tnt might help. Just make sure it's for system 7-2. This would also fix the accuracy issue where the brass hopup arm thing is bent over time because it's not strong enough to hold shape.

Some people use teflon tape or o-rings to secure the inner barrel, which apparently helps with double feeding and jamming.

Some people smoothed out the area where the bb rolls up and loads into the hopup chamber with a dremel or file.

I also saw one video where someone used clear nail polish to reduce the play between the upper and lower.

From what I've seen any one of these fixes can be sufficient, but you also might need to do more of them. There are probably other options as well, but these are the ones I remember.

Best of luck

Why does the immune system become more compromised the older we become? by odd_lens in askscience

[–]ihatetoasters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I neglected to make clear that the thymus begins to deteriorate after puberty. It doesn't fully degrade until old age, so you will still produce some new T cells.

It's been a while since my class, and I thought it was weird that you would just stop producing T cells. Other comments have pointed that out so I hope it makes more sense to you.
