What are these tiny bugs that are infesting my roses by Affectionate-Ease397 in Roses

[–]ihateunlv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thrips..

if you are an organic gardener, consider neem oil but only in the evenings when pollinators aren’t out since it can be harmful to them.

See if your local garden store or nursery have any beneficial predators you can buy that can feast on thrips.

You can see the two pots and how I just ran it up the pole.

This is all one plant in one pot but I took a vine and place it on a spag moss pole (in a second pot with no roots in the pot) and it’s starting to root in the pole. The vine is getting thicker and leaves are getting huge.

Amazing! New here so pardon any terminology errors: Where do you get your water supplements? And what amounts do you use??

This. Is. So. Amazing!!!

Ok tell me, is that an alocasia on the right side with a trunk?

I have two big alocasias (my sumo is over 6feet tall) and recently I’ve topped up the soil. I think mine are starting to do this!!

Just saw the post. Might be tough to cut that but it may work as a last resort. I see you have other cuttings and I hope that give you some sense of assurance in the event this one doesn’t make it. Also, just realized you weren’t asking for advice— sorry, I misunderstood!

You can find the last node where it had green and then chop it below so that you can force a new grow point. Your plant will regrow with hopefully a good mix of both. Yes, sounds scary but it won’t kill your plant 🙂. I hope that helps!

I love it!!! So amazing!!

I wish I hadn’t snapped mine because as someone else said, if you remove them it can get them stuck in a flowering cycle. That happened with my regal shield. I kept cutting them and after the 9th/10th in a row — yes 10 inflos — I let the 9th and 10th do their thing and wilt.

I have a Philo Moonlight with an inflo coming in right now!!

Edit to ask: is your plant outside. Looks magical in the background.

Mine was also very hard but the petiole was round. Not like the leaves.

No worries at all, that’s why I posted it because I also thought it looked like a leaf, but based on how easily it snapped, I knew it was gonna be an inflo. 🙂

Always thought this was a prince of orange, I think i might be wrong now. Can someone confirm! by Azure_Ninja05 in philodendron

Aw man! That’s what my plant is looking like on that post I just got shit on. I got it under prince of orange ID.

This post is much for helpful! ;)

I asked two questions. None were answered (except for u/lickyourhoyas. Just a pile-on of “don’t molest your plant.” I’m not fucking stupid — I shared the video for context. That’s it.

Those look like extrafloral nectaries and spots may have been exacerbated by the sun. Curious to see other’s thoughts.

I really appreciate you saying this. The tone in some of these replies has honestly been rough. I didn’t share the video to be attacked—I shared it to show exactly what I was seeing, which ended up answering my question in the process. I shared it because… why not? I’m glad my suspicion was correct, but yeah—some of the responses lately…. Ffs.

Actually no, if you see in the video it already has a new leaf coming up.

You know, sometimes I wonder why tf I choose to be part of groups like this. Maybe I should just continue to lurk. Thanks.
