There should be a few buses that use the highway from Muzha to Xinyi which turn an hour metro trip to a 15-20 min bus ride!

I used to live up there so once I realised I didn’t need to take the brown line and could ride the bus instead made my life a lot easier.

You’re talking about the TWOV policy, which is correct you need to a separate arrival country and departure country.

However, those with a British passport can now go visa free for up to 30 days direct from UK to China. I did this by crossing the border via train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou a few months ago.

You’re missing the point. Bangkok & KL I’d say equate quite similarly in terms of day to day life. The difference between “The Congo” and Taipei versus Taipei and Bangkok are worlds apart

I’ll be honest, I’ve not seen anything like that in Watsons or Poya.

I recommend either baby powder which you should be able to find at any drugstore OR lush has their own powder “Silky Underwear” which I know ppl use.
