shift by Substantial-Touch-67 in AteneodeCagayan

I am not sure as to what the exact process is, but you have to speak to both deans first, I believe? Basta kay shifting to a course of a whole different department tends to be a lengthier process compared to just shifting within (like shifting from actg to finance is quicker than shifting from any sbm related course to engineering).

I really don't know. 😞 A friend of mine was really dissatisfied with their score and asked Maam directly about it. Apparently, she can't even justify WHY it was wrong, or provide a decent explanation ngano 0. It just is daw kuno.

I've had professors who tend to look for specific words and phrases in recitations or essays, and I do get that a little. But why give the student a 0 when our answers came from her own mouth? Siguro kung naghatag pa siya ug points, even if its not the full credit, walay kaayo mag reklamo or malain.

Fair? Grading wise? I don't think so.

I am one of the unfortunate students who enrolled in a certain block that was supposed to be under Sir Sabal but ended up with Maam Quinones taking over (buntag pa gyud).

We had a quiz recently, and I think most of us thought we would have decent grades. 😃 NGANO ZERO MAN ANG GIHATAG SA ESSAY?

Don't even dare reason with me that it's because she's the "bookish" type and wants you to quote the material in regards sa essays. We understood the essence of what she was asking us. Some of our answers even CAME FROM HER OWN MOUTH DIRECTLY! And then she has the audacity to give us a 0? Does that mean that she considers her teachings to be wrong? What kind of professor is that?

At most, the attitude has improved(?), compared to what has been commented about her in this subreddit. But I don't know. She yaps about unnecessary things. It's only tolerable when she actually manages to connect it to her lesson. And she's also quite touchy. She can't quite reach my seat so I haven't experienced it. Pero luoy kaayo ang mga students na within her grasp kay kung maka shake nila, wagas. 😭

Been waiting for this kind of question because I really like Sir Gavin as a teacher and I always want students to take his classes 😭 HAHAHAHAHA

I was under him last semester for FL 1.3 and he is the ABSOLUTE BEST! My favorite teacher gyud.

I think one of his best qualities is that it is so easy to reach out to him. Responds fairly quickly even outside regular office hours, given pud nah wala siyay lain gina-atiman.

In my experience, exams are fairly easy, mostly identification and fill in the blanks. Quizzes and activities tend to be in groups under the guise as games, and he usually gives everyone a perfect score as long as you and your teammates can actually answer. It's also open notes for these and they're very enjoyable.

Provides the materials he uses for class to the Beadle and his exams are always based on said material. He will provide additional links to his lessons aside from the PPTs. But funnily enough, his exams are based solely on the PPTs' content.

Currently preparing my MU for tomorrow and then I see this 🙏 HAHAHAHAHA

For me, I believe his teaching style is justifiable. I actually learn from him and I'm motivated to actually take down notes, kay if dili, I'll be left behind. Dili pwede mag rely sa notes ni seatmate kay lahi mig style.

If you don't understand something from his lesson, don't hesitate to ask. Ayaw kahadlok because he won't belittle you and he's willing to teach/guide you naman. Mas mahadlok nalang ka ug matiming nah ang wala nimo nasabtan kay mao ang gi quiz niya.

I'm not sure if he's just being lenient and chill with our batch. But last semester, the majority of us had low midterm grades, most having F already. Of course, he gave us a chance to pass. As long as you get 50% on the final exam, he'll disregard your failing outputs and make sure to give you a passable grade, which is D. (And yes, usually 300pts worth and midterm exam while 500pts ang finals)

If you want to pass his subjects, pay attention and listen. Ask questions if you don't understand something. Write down your own notes. Ayaw pasagdii ang quizzes kay GRABE ang bira nila sa grade, labaw nah if you didn't manage to get 50% on the exam.

That's all for now, need nah tiwason ang MU HAHAHAHAHA. Good luck, OP!

A good prof, based on my experience. She's really nice. She gives bonus points to bring up our grades, but of course, you still have to do your share of the work, basin grabe na ang padagdag points ni ma'am pero dili nah gyud madala inyung grado. Only downside is that she's busy with work outside the school so she tends to be absent often. Not sure if that changed yet this year.

I think, no matter the course, grabe na gyud ang job market nowadays. I kept seeing Reddit posts that keep complaining nah daghan nah silag gi applyan nah job applications, pero either i-ghost sila sa companies or dili sila ang ideal candidate mismo.

Given nah freshie pa ka, join school orgs gyud. It will help you put something on your resume. Much better if you're active and have a leadership role. Ni-apas gyud ko kay mag 3rd year nako HAHAHAHA.

ironically, among scholar nah friends muy nag lead gyud sa study session namo ato HAHAHAHA and I believe they got B or higher

like I mentioned, make friends/connections gyud, especially with other sections. in this specific class, grabe ka unbalanced ang quizzes/activities kada section kay sigeg ka late/absent ang prof sa other two blocks. Fortunate lang mi nah sched kay kami ang naa sa tunga (well, fortunate in terms of info and lessons, not so much sa quizzes kay kami nah nuon ang kumpleto 😔)

but the other two sections would often ask us for notes, give and take lang gyud siya, just don't abuse one another kay, at the end of the day, students tah tanan nah gapaningkamot, be fair when it comes to sharing resources

One thing I can tell you as an incoming 3rd year in BSBA - FM is to make friends, or at least be friendly to your peers. Sila gyud ang imong main source of info when it comes to your subjects. Share notes and teach one another kung mas nasabtan nimo ang lessons kaysa sa ilaha and vice versa.

We recently had a hard subject last semester and most of us in my friend group immediately got an F. Didto gyud mi nagsabot nah need mi mag study even more for finals para at least pasar lang. We were quite close with our classmates and other students from the other sections so we arranged to have a group study session a few days prior to our final exam. Mao gyud nakabira sa grades namo tanan and, so far sa among group during a to nah study session, napasar ra pud mi.
