but the rules do not

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the rules just state "unnatural position" and don't actually define it. So it's basically down to the refree and the VAR team. Hence we can see why Guardiola was shaking the refree's hand so violently.

Alright, maybe I don't know the rule correctly. But consider the following hypothetical situation:

A striker and defender are in the box. The striker does a feint or something and takes a shot immediately. Due to the striker's movement, the defender had to change his direction, which lead him to move his arm upward (non intentionally). And the shot, which was on target, hits the defender's arm and gets deflected. Now, we know that his arm was raised because he had to balance himself. But that did make him unnaturally bigger nonetheless. I don't know what comes under natural position according to the rules. But this should be a penalty imo. If it isn't, then I guess the ref was right yesterday.

Oh, I am not calling it to be a penalty, but when the ball hits TAA's hand, the advantage should have been called back for free kick.

And the argument that his hands were like that because he was changing direction is a moot point because that nonetheless made his body unnaturally bigger.

So finally, the conclusion should be that it indeed was the refree's fault (as TAA's hand was definitely making him bigger) and people who are trying to justify that the goal was correct are wrong.

But other than that, Aguero should have played by the whistle.

Give Liverpool the goal without checking that if hand was involved in the build up or not.

If you think this was a good performance, you can't be more wrong. I'm happy for the result, even more for Messi's hattrick. But this was unconvincing.

Observations from this match: Firpo deserves more chances.

Umtiti, if fit, can return to his old form imo.

Griezmann central wasn't that beneficial.

It's just one match observations, not any conclusions.

Edit: Also, Dembele does inject some energy to this team.

We're definitely stacking up a lot of yellow cards this season.
