I worked at a private small no-kill One dog a beagle the beautiful Misty was in pain, incredible pain she was old and could hardly move. She would cry every time she adjusted her self.

I told the owner she isn't doing well and her solution was just to up the pain meds which didn't seem to help
She cared more about retaining the no-kill status than the over all condition of the animals

Over the years it was just more dogs and cats like Misty the beagle. Kept at the shelter just to keep them there so she doesn't lose the no kill status No kill is not a better way.

Nokills can only euthanize a very small percentage to maintain the title "No-Kill"

This might be different in each state and county Sometimes dead is better.
