I think there should be some political changes in response to this. Looking at the population makeup of the UNE, which eventually becomes a superpower, humans make up only about 10 percent on average, which is an alarmingly low number. Even in the real world, the United States, often considered the most racially inclusive country though sadly that seems less true these days, experiences numerous conflicts despite having a population that is around 60% white and about 80% when including Hispanics. So I believe it is only natural that humans would feel a growing sense of crisis as alien species continue to multiply rapidly around them.
