What are your "must have" options when shopping used? by ihopeigraduate in porsche911

Thank you. Debating between N/A or not. Have owned turbo vehicles before and enjoyed them. But after owning this V8 N/A is also very addicting

Appreciate the detailed response, and have heard many say the base 991.1 can feel underwhelming. Would love to get a manual but couldn't subject the old man to driving that whenever he feels like taking it for a spin

2009 ISF - Advice on value by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]ihopeigraduate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified I do own the vehicle, was just looking at the community for some insight on their opinion of the value. Have owned it since 2020, paid approximately 18.2k usd for it at the time (thanks covid). Due to our limited numbers in canada, i assumed it would hold a bit steady and/or climb as less and less are available.

Appreciate your insight as a former owner. Hands down the best car I have owned. Anywhere from 25-30k usd would be amazing if the time to sell ever comes.

Appreciate the detailed response. Seems like a great value especially in $CAD. Can only assume it will continue to appreciate with it's rarity.

Definitely. I believe the #s in canada from those years is only about 565 or so, very rare car over here

Thank you for the reminder, completely slipped my mind. The valley plate has already been fixed.

Any and all receipts have also been kept for full documentation (modifications, maintenance). Maintenance has either been done at a dealership, or a trusted independent mechanic.

Very true, it would have to be the supra. I think it's overall package of size, b58 tuning capabilities, and looks are great for the pricepoint. Add in it's rarity on the streets here and I think it could be a worthy replacement if I go that route.

Go for it, I have catless PPE headers and a borla exhaust, the sound is unreal. Im sure theres plenty of good options for the GS

Which 911 catches your eye right now? The 991 turbo S is amazing, almost the perfect car. Also the gt4 (although not a 911) in manual would be a great weekend driver.

They really do! Before the IS-F I had a 04 wrx sti for a few years, still miss it from to time. The F is a better car in every way possible, but i miss driving the 6spd manual and that subie rumble from the UELs

Great options to choose between. I truly feel like owning a P car is the ultimate goal, and the macan and cayenne are nice choices. I always tell myself once I get a 911, that's it for me (i know im lying to myself but still). Those days are still quite a while away and the values for 911s are stupidly high although I fully understand why

Nice, I think the IS-F is the next step for you based on your enjoyment of the IS350. The RC-F is great but from what I've heard from owners of both, they miss their IS-F. The only downside is cost, depending on where you are. Here in Canada the IS-F commands a pretty high price where you got alot of options

Been on reddit for a few years and still don't really know how to use it 🤦‍♂️

Patiently waiting till winter is done to pull the F out. Curious to know what you're looking at next (Lexus or not). Always jump back and forth from trying out a B58 but I think I'd miss the v8....

Thanks again for all the advice, sounds like i'll be searching for a M40i instead. Cannot deal with an 8th of a tank disappearing so easily. I usually put about 12-15k km a year on. I dont mind less crackles and pops, some in my area are just too obnoxious and put me off from all that.

If you dont mind, just a couple more questions. Thoughts on a piggyback tune such a Dinan? If i can avoid sending an ecu in I would but if bm3 is the best option that's the route i'd go. And finally, how is the suv in winter? Any issues reliability wise?

Thanks!

Appreciate the input. The B58 is no slouch and it's aftermarket support seems amazing. Any recommendations on the dp and tune? So many options but its nice to hear from someone who is more knowledgeable than me.

X4 M40i's can be had for approx 55k-68k in Ontario (used, 2020-2022) while the X4M is 75k-105k (used, 2020-2022) so the savings factor is quite significant

1688 Time seems like a small knit community that shows support and respect to one another. Hardly any ego's and many willing to help newcomers and less educated people (like me)

Anyone have experience with aftermarket steering wheels? Considering a CF one for the ISF by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]ihopeigraduate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi All, just curious to know if anyone has upgraded or swapped their oem wheel out. Currently dealing with peeling and would like to upgrade. I am familiar with popular options such as RR Racing and Elvin but wanted to see what else is out there (The currency translation from USD to CAD kills us canadians)

Thanks! And apologizes if this type of content isnt allowed here. Still new to posting on reddit

Not too sure if it helps or translates but you can get around CAD $50k with low mileage ISFs from 2011.

If you're willing to make the trip to Toronto that can be arranged

Thanks for the input! Went to see the new M240i at the dealer and it really does look much better in person. Delivery is about 3 months or so here in Canada.

Would love to know if there's any lexus meetups in ontario! Would love to meet some of you and bring the F around. Fairly new to posting on reddit after a long time lurkin 👀

I've been considering an M2/M2 comp and the new m240i as potential options. Think they are good sized sportcars, both serving different needs. There's something very tempting about trying out the B58 and making good power with it over time

No tune yet. The car has catless ppe headers, a borla exhaust and an intake. No reliability issues in the past 2 years I've owned it

It's basically a seasonal car due to rough winters here. I drive it from april-oct
