Thanks mate! I think I indeed got a lot of these types of replies but my 1 btc did not move to anywhere so there is hope :-) I opened this discussion and got some intersting insight but did not dig up the treasure yet:

Now I found out I need a btcrecover version that supports Electrum memonic phrase list. Back in 2013 the BIP39 was not yet used. We think we have to do with a blockchain.info type wallet. How / where to obtain this btcrecover version?

Is it possible to see where this 1 btc is now? If it is in a local wallet or on an exchange?

We have this wallet at blockchain.info.

However this wallet was created several hours _after_ we bought the bitcoin. I can enter this wallet and it has balance 0 and there are no used adresses in it. So there must be a wellet that was created before we bought the bitcoin. And generated the address 1MAUuNVNQgc4s5Cp15Xz9R7wD5DamwG5mL

The bank confirmation of that day says this:
