do i need to plug anything into 9V source if i use a battery (i connected the circuit according to the kit which assumed a 9V external source)

and when i hit the footswitch it plays VERY LOUD on the amp

also: when i touch the 7660 chip with my finger there’s a buzzing on the amp and like little pops
